Anna stumbled, her eyes adjusting to the dim light. The building was old and abandoned, with cobwebs hanging from the ceiling.
As they reached a staircase, Alex pushed Anna ahead of him. "Go," he whispered. "We need to get to the roof."
Anna's heart was racing as she climbed the stairs. She could hear footsteps echoing below them.
The stairs creaked beneath their feet, and Anna's fear spiked. What if they got caught?
As they reached the roof, Alex pulled Anna to the edge. "Look," he whispered, pointing to a helicopter in the distance.
Anna's eyes widened. "How are we going to get there?" she asked.
Alex smiled. "We'll make it," he said. "Just stick with me."
Suddenly, Anna heard footsteps on the stairs. Alex's head snapped around, and he pulled Anna into the shadows.
The footsteps got closer, and Anna's heart was racing. Who was it? Friend or foe?
As the figure emerged onto the roof, Anna saw its face. Her eyes widened in shock.
