Chapter 527 - Chapter 527: Gallade, Resonance!

"Whoosh!"

The sound was accompanied by an incredibly powerful gust of wind.

In midair, it was as though an invisible giant hand was frantically squeezing the dust that filled the sky.

The sky, which had been a murky grayish yellow just moments ago, quickly cleared up.

"Senior Chuck, Senior Walker, good to see you both."

Floating in midair, Silas greeted them before slowly walking down, one step at a time.

"How's that?" Once he landed on the ground, he grinned. "Pretty cool, right?"

"You little brat!"

Chuck laughed and scolded him good-naturedly.

The tension that had been stretched taut for nearly an hour finally relaxed.

What followed was an overwhelming sense of joy.

Seeing his friend grinning from ear to ear, Su Tian knew exactly what he was thinking.

While marveling at how unbelievably lucky the other man was, he also gave his own foolish son a look of exasperation.

Falkner looked completely bewildered.

"Why are you looking at me? Didn't Metagross say that if it had been me, I'd probably have gone 'bang' just like that?

Besides, isn't my own father just an ordinary person without any special abilities?"

It was impossible to say that Walker had absolutely no abilities.

As Chuck's friend, although he was certainly no martial arts master, years of training meant that he could easily handle several ordinary opponents.

However, that level of physical ability was probably only enough to deal with one hand from Chuck, let alone a Psychic.

Seeing Silas's somewhat pale complexion, Jasmine, being a woman, was more attentive than the others.

"Are you all right? You look extremely exhausted."

Silas, whose complexion was becoming increasingly unpleasant, casually waved his hand.

"Don't worry. Right now, I feel like my physical condition is exceptionally…"

"Pfft!"

Before he could finish speaking, a stream of salty, bloody liquid sprayed from his nose.

After a moment of silence, Silas swayed slightly.

"Yeah, I guess I really am not doing too well."

"Thud."

As he said that, his entire body pitched forward and he collapsed face-first onto the ground.

"Silas!"

"Miss Joy! Chansey! We have an injured person who needs treatment!"

Everyone immediately descended into chaos.

Fortunately, out of concern for everyone's safety, Jasmine had already contacted the Pokémon Center in Olivine City when they came out and asked them to send several Nurse Joys to the scene.

As soon as Nurse Joy heard Jasmine's call, she immediately ran over with her partner.

Having witnessed Silas's entire display of "showing off" just moments earlier, Nurse Joy was astonished that such a powerful Psychic was actually so young. Nevertheless, her hands moved rapidly as she began treating him.

"Nurse Joy, how is Silas?"

Chuck asked anxiously.

How could he have suddenly started bleeding from his nose and collapsed when he had seemed perfectly fine?

"A self-protective mechanism of the body.

Simply put, his Psychic output was too powerful in such a short period of time, to the point that his body could not withstand or adapt to it.

Considering what just happened, I'm actually surprised he wasn't bleeding from all seven orifices.

This should also be related to the fact that he only awakened his Psychic abilities recently. Otherwise, the situation could have been even more serious."

Although this was also Nurse Joy's first time encountering such a situation, as one of the more experienced Nurse Joys, she quickly gave them her diagnosis.

In simple terms, he had overdone it.

Silas had only just awakened his Psychic abilities. Regardless of how physically strong he was or how powerful his Psychic abilities were, he had first suppressed the dust over a huge area and then walked down from midair as though he were walking on an invisible staircase.

The precision required for those two feats, as well as the energy they consumed, had clearly exceeded what his body could currently handle.

"So he's fine, then?"

Although he still did not fully understand it, Chuck had more or less gotten the point.

Nurse Joy continued operating the examination equipment.

"The conditions out here are rather limited, but judging from the data, he should be able to recover completely after about a month of rest."

"A month?"

Chuck's expression did not change in the slightest.

"Well, that's not too bad. He's already finished challenging the Gyms anyway. All he needs to do now is wait for the regional tournament to begin."

"The regional tournament?"

Nurse Joy, who was busy working, was apparently one of those rare people who was not particularly interested in gossip.

She gave the young man lying flat on the ground a strange look.

Judging from the Psychic power Silas had displayed, Nurse Joy felt that sending him to the regional tournament was probably more like sending him there to bully everyone else.

"Oh, right."

Chuck slapped his forehead.

"I brought a bottle of Secret Medicine from home. Nurse Joy, take a look and see if this will help."

He pulled a small red bottle from his pocket. A lightning bolt was printed on the label.

If it had not been taken out by the Gym Leader of Cianwood Gym, this kind of Secret Medicine would have looked exactly like a cheap counterfeit.

"It will help. It should allow him to wake up sooner."

As Nurse Joy took the small bottle, she explained.

"However, even if he uses the Secret Medicine, I recommend that he remain in bed and rest for about seven days. Otherwise, there is a good chance that something could go wrong again."

"I understand. Controlling power, right? I'm familiar with that."

Chuck casually slapped his chest, indicating that he understood.

Nurse Joy then looked toward Chansey.

"Then, Chansey, I'll leave this to you. Use Life Dew!"

"Chansey~"

The soft, pink Chansey narrowed its eyes and happily responded to its Trainer.

A bright blue energy fluctuation gathered in its hands.

Seeing this, Nurse Joy immediately opened the Secret Medicine and poured it over Silas's body from above.

"Chansey~"

Chansey's soft voice murmured.

Drop after drop of Secret Medicine was carefully controlled by Chansey and evenly distributed across Silas's entire body.

The flickering light naturally drew everyone's attention.

Once all of the Secret Medicine had disappeared, Chansey finally let out a relieved sigh.

Such an extremely precise task was also quite a challenge for it.

This was Secret Medicine, after all. Its market price was ridiculously high.

If anything went wrong, even a minor mistake could cause considerable trouble.

However, judging by Chuck's expression, he did not seem to care about it at all.

After all, for Cianwood Gym, which produced Secret Medicine, its value could not be said to be low, but it was certainly not particularly high either.

Whenever Chuck suffered a minor injury or pulled a muscle, he liked using this stuff to treat himself. It helped him recover extremely quickly.

Yuriko had scolded him about this more than once, but it had basically always ended with nothing coming of it.

"About fifteen minutes. He should wake up very soon."

Looking at the examination equipment, Nurse Joy confidently gave her prediction.

"Ugh…"

A groan sounded at almost exactly the same moment she finished speaking.

Nurse Joy's expression stiffened.

Looking down, she saw that the young man in front of her had already raised a hand to hold his head.

"Man, that hurts…"

He grimaced as he complained.

Although Nurse Joy was somewhat annoyed that he had woken up at precisely this moment, her instincts as a doctor immediately kicked in.

"Hello. Do you remember what your name is?"

Hearing the question, Silas, who had not yet opened his eyes, was still somewhat confused.

However, after opening his eyes and taking a look at the person asking him the question, he understood the general situation.

"Oh, it's Nurse Joy and Chansey. Thank you. My memory is fine. There aren't any problems with it. It just feels swollen and uncomfortable."

His brows were tightly furrowed, and he looked completely listless.

"You simply overexerted yourself."

Chuck walked over and spoke with an exasperated tone.

"You just awakened your Psychic abilities and immediately used up that much energy. If your head wasn't hurting, whose would be?"

Psychic abilities might be incredibly powerful, but they also came with considerable drawbacks.

Take Sabrina, the famous Psychic-type Gym Leader from Kanto, for example.

She was widely recognized as a Psychic with a truly unpredictable temperament.

No one knew what was going on inside her mind.

Maybe she would not even spare you a glance one moment, and the next moment, you would find yourself transformed into a doll.

As for the reason, Maybe Sabrina was simply in a bad mood at that particular moment.

Or, going even further, there was Caitlin.

Whenever she lost control of her emotions, her Psychic powers would also run out of control, producing enormous destructive power.

She had spent an unknown amount of money simply paying for the resulting damages.

If not for this, she would not have gone all the way to Unova to painstakingly train herself and learn how to control her emotions.

"Ahaha…"

Silas laughed awkwardly.

There was nothing he could do about it. He had simply been too excited.

Obtaining such tremendous power all at once really could make it easy for someone to lose themselves.

He now had a rough idea why Psychics tended to be so arrogant.

"You Forget it. Just get some proper rest first. We'll talk about everything after you've recovered."

Chuck had wanted to get a clear explanation, but after looking at Silas's condition, he decided to let it go.

"Jasmine, I'm going to have to trouble you for the next few days. In his current condition, he probably shouldn't go back to my Cianwood Gym, so let him recover at your Olivine Gym for a few days."

"Don't worry. Leave it to me. Besides, I also made a mistake during this expedition to the ruins."

Jasmine naturally agreed.

As someone with an extremely strong sense of responsibility, she had always felt that Silas ending up in such a dangerous situation was partly her fault.

"I'm still not strong enough."

She sighed quietly.

The group did not remain in this remote wilderness for much longer.

After confirming that the ruins below were still intact, Jasmine called over a group of people to cordon off the surrounding area. She then returned to Olivine Gym with one injured person and several guys who had come along to watch the show.

After helping Silas onto the bed, Chuck exchanged a meaningful glance with his friend.

"All right, let Silas get some proper rest. We happen to have something to discuss as well."

Walker understood the signal immediately and found an excuse to speak to Jasmine.

"Since we're here, let's discuss a few things."

Jasmine did not think much of it and nodded.

Falkner really wanted to stay and chat with Silas for a while, but his father grabbed him and dragged him outside.

Chuck was the last one to leave. He pointed at the Poké Balls around Silas's waist and smiled at him.

Silas smiled and gave him a thumbs-up.

"Pop!"

"Biubiubiu!"

As the door closed, one Poké Ball after another around Silas's waist immediately flashed with red light.

Fortunately, the room Jasmine had prepared for him was large enough. Otherwise, it really would not have been able to accommodate all twelve Pokémon of different sizes.

"Tokki~"

Togekiss, its eyes brimming with tears, immediately wanted to throw itself onto Silas.

Fortunately, Blaziken grabbed the little one's wing and stopped it.

That would have been ridiculous. If Togekiss landed on him like that, the man who had only just recovered would probably lose half his life again.

The other Pokémon simply gathered around the bed without saying a word, watching Silas with worried expressions.

"Oh, come on. Why are you all acting like I'm about to die?"

Silas helplessly shook his head.

"It's just a minor injury. Besides, awakening Psychic powers is a great thing."

"Gallade."

Gallade was the first to speak.

It felt that if only its Teleport had been fast enough, it should have been able to get Silas out of the underground cavern.

Silas leaned against the headboard and raised a hand to pat Gallade on the head.

"That's not true. I should be thanking you for protecting me."

Under those circumstances, the fact that Gallade, despite only being at the Advanced level, had managed to reach his side before the red light struck was enough to show just how hard the Pokémon had worked.

Seeing that Gallade still felt guilty, Silas rubbed his temples.

A familiar blue and purple light appeared in his eyes.

"See? I told you it was a good thing."

The Pokémon were just about to stop him, but Silas waved his hand and told them not to move.

His voice echoed in Gallade's mind.

At the same time, blue and purple light involuntarily began to radiate from Gallade's body as well.

"What is this...?"

Gallade was somewhat confused.

It could feel the energy within its body continuously growing stronger.

"Hmm~"

Silas's complexion became somewhat pale again. He frowned and stopped outputting his Psychic power.

Correspondingly, Gallade's aura had become completely different from before.

[Gallade]

Category: Blade Pokémon

Type: Psychic + Fighting

Level: Level 47 (Advance) / Level 59 (Pseudo-Elite, Temporary)

Potential: Champion (↑)

On Silas's Number Zero Interface, Gallade's status was clearly displayed.

"This is probably where Sabrina's Champion-level Alakazam came from."

Silas silently thought this as he took a deep breath and adjusted his condition.

If Gallade's level were a little higher and it reached the Pseudo-Elite level, while his own condition was better and he was not as exhausted as he was now.

Silas had every reason to believe that Gallade's strength could be forcibly raised to the Elite Four level, and not just an ordinary Elite Four level, but one that was extremely close to the Champion level.

"Bond Evolution? Or should I call it a Bond Enhancement?

"No, that doesn't make sense. This is Psychic power, so it doesn't have much to do with bonds.

"Then what should this state be called?"

"Resonance."

A familiar voice sounded in Silas's mind.

"Oh, you're recovered?"

He responded with a grin in the same manner.

Gallade beside the bed did not say anything, but its thoughts simultaneously appeared in Silas's mind.

At this moment, the human and Pokémon were truly one entity.

"Psychic resonance, mental resonance, and resonance of the heart."

That was Gallade's thought.

There were no two completely identical things in this world.

However, because of the red light, the Psychic and mental fluctuations of Silas and Gallade had strangely developed an extensive overlap.

That was what had caused this situation between the human and Pokémon.

"So I guess everything really is arranged by fate."

Silas smiled and "spoke" to Gallade.

"Sabrina's Alakazam must have gone through a long search to achieve something like this as well."

Even finding someone with an identical appearance was incredibly difficult, let alone someone with an identical mind.

Silas estimated that before entering this state, Sabrina's Alakazam was most likely at the Pseudo-Champion level, or perhaps it had only been at the Elite Four level.

He knew his own limits.

Compared with Sabrina's Psychic power, he was still far behind.

"Hmph."

A muffled groan suddenly escaped Silas's mouth again.
