Chapter 266 - Chapter 266: Inspiration from Charles Manson

That morning, the entire school heard the furious roar of the current Head of the Black family.

Walburga lost all face and once again had her arrogance thoroughly crushed.

So all the documents Wade's group had prepared overnight, intending to sue the Black family, ended up having no use at all.

"These preparations aren't wasted. Keep them. If things change someday, they'll still come in handy," Wade said with a wave of his hand.

Many in the club already knew about Alphard's situation, so Flitwick naturally understood what Wade meant.

After thinking for a moment, he gave his own opinion. "The president is right. We can't let our guard down. After all, this whole outcome was only because of their 'misunderstanding'. If that misunderstanding is ever cleared up, Alphard will still face the thing he fears most. So we should seek professional legal help now and prepare thoroughly. When that day comes, we'll be ready."

"That's correct. Filius, do you have any other suggestions?" Wade asked, looking at him with approval.

Flitwick thought for a moment, then said, "I heard that you, President, have a close relationship with Professor Slughorn. Professor Slughorn is very well-connected, he's also the Head of Slytherin, and now he's even the instructor for Moral Education. I think, if you speak to him and link this matter to Alphard's psychological stress, he'll have no reason to refuse. When that happens, Professor Slughorn will definitely find a professional to provide proper legal assistance for Alphard. If that day comes, Alphard will surely be able to fight for more of his rightful interests."

Wade clapped enthusiastically, then turned to Tom.

"See? That's professionalism! Alright, we'll do exactly as you suggested! Filius, you really deserve to be a top Ravenclaw student. Wisdom really is everything. Much more reliable than a certain second-year who only chases power and has nothing but magic inside his head."

Tom shot Wade a sideways glare. "You could just read out my student number… No, wait! That sounds more like you!"

"Don't worry about the details," Wade waved him off.

"I'm not that amazing…" Flitwick said, blushing and embarrassed.

He was humble on the surface, but inside he felt genuinely happy. He had never received this kind of recognition before, and hearing it from Wade warmed him deeply.

"Alright, Filius, I saw your impressive performance on the dueling platform earlier. You clearly have a great deal of talent. I'm getting a bit itchy myself. Want to spar with me?" Wade asked.

"Really?" Flitwick said excitedly. "I heard you and Sir Tom are both very skilled!"

"Tom and I only happened to learn a few tricks from Professor Dumbledore. Nothing special," Wade said casually.

"Wow… Professor Dumbledore. He's the strongest wizard I've ever seen! He actually taught you personally!?"

"Just luck. I happened to meet Professor Dumbledore before starting school."

"I really envy you… Honestly, ever since entering Hogwarts, my favorite sport has been dueling! It's so much fun! Let's begin!" Flitwick said, then immediately ran toward the dueling platform and struggled to climb up.

"Tom, add a step to the platform later," Wade said.

"As you wish, oh great Lord Wade! Of course, if he were willing to move that nearly moldy wand of his and use a bit of Transfiguration to create the steps himself, that would be even better," Tom said, mimicking Wade in a Snape-like sarcastic tone Wade always used.

"I'm giving you training opportunities, Tom."

"Oh yes, what tremendous kindness! Lord Wade!"

"How about I practice with you later too? See if my nearly moldy wand is still as strong as it used to be?"

"My wand is also more than… forget it! Goodbye!" Tom spun around and ran immediately.

There was no way he was giving Wade a chance to beat him up.

"Unbelievable… if I don't hit him for one day he starts climbing onto the roof. And he still hasn't found me another secretary he promised…" Wade muttered as he walked toward the platform.

With a casual wave, steps extended smoothly from the edge of the platform.

"President, your Transfiguration is amazing!" Flitwick exclaimed.

"Then you'd better be careful, because Transfiguration can be used in dueling too," Wade said with a smile.

"Please use it!" Flitwick said eagerly.

He was still a first-year, only recently exposed to dueling. But the classmates his age all had very simple attack patterns.

So he was desperate to see newer, more effective fighting methods.

Two minutes later, the duel ended with Flitwick hanging upside-down from the ceiling.

Flitwick knew very well that Wade had been holding back the entire time. During the fight, Wade corrected his bad casting habits and deliberately demonstrated multiple forms of attack to broaden Flitwick's perspective.

Otherwise, Wade wouldn't have needed two minutes to defeat him.

"President! I want to learn dueling!"

"Don't rush, Filius. One step at a time. I have high expectations for your future."

"Understood! I'll work hard for the future of the wizarding world!"

"Very good. Full of spirit."

...

Flitwick's idea worked very well.

After Wade explained Alphard's situation to Professor Slughorn, he agreed without hesitation to find someone to help.

Once he wrote the letter and sent it to the appropriate contact, Professor Slughorn reminded Wade once more to stay away from Grindelwald.

That man was far too dangerous.

Wade verbally agreed completely, of course, but because of Grindelwald's prophecy, even if he did nothing, Grindelwald would still come looking for him.

In the end, he had no way to truly avoid Grindelwald.

Since that was the case, he might as well make the situation benefit him as much as possible.

That was why Wade had been laying out so many plans. So far, things looked pretty good.

After leaving Professor Slughorn's office, Wade found Alphard and told him the news.

Finally, under Alphard's tearfully grateful gaze, he went to the library and continued perfecting the ideological program.

From the information he had just gathered from Professor Slughorn, it seemed Slughorn was almost at the limit of what he could handle as the instructor for the Moral Education class.

Professor Slughorn already had to teach a core subject to all seven year levels in Potions.

Normally, aside from grading assignments from every year and preparing lessons, he also had to supervise the O.W.L. preparations for the fifth-years, and finally provide career guidance for those about to graduate.

By the end of all that, the time he had left for his own potion research was already extremely limited. And now he had to handle a Moral Education class as well.

Even if the Moral Education class existed only to appease Grindelwald and didn't require much real effort, he couldn't simply do nothing.

With this added responsibility, he almost had no personal time left at all.

Even the Slug Club gatherings he held on weekends had been suspended for some time.

So Wade now had to quickly finish drafting the ideological program, then convince Professor Slughorn and take this troublesome class off his hands.

Haah.. gotta make another brainwashing speech.. let's take inspiration from Charles Manson this time...

"To unite everyone, we must help them understand who our friends are and who our enemies are… but before any of that, we need to establish the correct core values…" Wade muttered as he scribbled furiously with a quill across parchment.

Time passed minute by minute. When Wade finally put away the manuscript, it was already past eight in the evening.

He touched his stomach. He had been so absorbed in writing that he'd missed dinner.

But that wasn't a big problem. The house-elves in the Hogwarts kitchens always welcomed any student who dropped by to fill their stomach before leaving.

When Wade returned to the dormitory after eating, it was already past nine. Henry and Alphard were huddled together, copying Tom's homework.

"What are they doing?" Wade asked.

"Copying homework," Tom said.

"If you rely on copying homework, what are you ever going to learn?" Wade said unhappily.

Henry and Alphard immediately stood up, awkward smiles on their faces, hurriedly putting away the homework they had copied.

"And you… Tom, how could you lend them your homework to copy?"

Tom gave Wade a sideways look. "It's still better than certain people who just have others write it for them."

"Tom… they don't do their homework because they're lazy. I don't do it because I don't want to waste time. When I'm not writing homework, don't you know what I'm doing? Are the things I'm working on easier than homework? Tommy boy… you really did disappoint me this time."

Tom was instantly speechless.

Because everything Wade said was true. These low-level assignments really meant nothing to Wade anymore.
