Chapter 20 - SCP-280 and Change

(I'm sorry in advance)

I lied, we are going to see new faces soon, considering the SCP that is appearing. You see, I had originally planned to wait longer until the next SCP came knocking on this world, but I decided to speed it up because the manhunt launched for me is outrageous. I'm Interpol's most wanted... and not only that, progress has been happening, a couple of the legal stores had been inspected by the FBI and CIA, from the looks of it.

I really don't like being a wanted criminal, so instead of me being in the spotlight, how about I summon the SCP, let it do something, so they attract attention, and then I will be out of the spotlight! (IQ req <=5) I said they could make the plans for the SCP containment and stuff, but in the end, I still decide when they appear. So I guess it's decided then, they will have a chance to prove themselves while I get to enjoy the peace, unless of course it's 682 or 008 or something along those lines, in that case I'll simply contemplate like Socrates.

Alright, piece of shit system, I want to receive the next SCP!

[...yes...]

[SCP-280

Class: Keter

Description: An entity with 2 white eyes that only appear when it retreats and a body of darkness, extremely aggressive, it can change from a physical form to a non-corporal form that resembles black smoke. In the event of encountering the entity, light will cause it to stop attacking, and in the event it's overwhelmed by light, it will teleport away.]

Damn, this is actually one of the easier keters to contain, of course, its absurd strength and powers will cause problems, especially its violence. The only thing that makes this SCP dangerous is its body; it's always discounted as nothing in the dark, like seeing a shadow standing, but remembering your clothes are there, when they are actually not.

[Location: Queens]

Wow, really helpful, the amount of violence that occurs there will make it no easier to track a massacring shadow. The only hint we can get is deaths that happen with abnormal circumstances, like no signs of break-ins, but a bunch of guts spewed across the walls.

[Meanwhile at Queens]

Peter Parker had been ready to hop into bed; he was wearing his pj's and was brushing his teeth. He had not the slightest idea of what was about to happen, his young innocence stripped off like bark from a tree. Aunt May had kissed him to sleep, and he was grateful for that.

It's 9 pm on the dot, it was fairly dark, and a shadow forms in the corner of the room. Peter is still awake, unable to fall asleep because he is scared for some reason. Peter isn't scared of the dark, or at least not as of now. He decided to turn on his night lamp to try to calm himself, and luckily, it worked. If he had not turned the light on sooner, the nails that were about to pierce his neck would have landed. Scp-280 retreated into the darkest spot in the room and waited. Peter saw the shadow, and it made him freeze up. He was scared of monsters, not the dark.

He stood up and ran for the light switch, his little heart pounding as he imagined the shadow was really a monster. The sudden activation of the light caused SCP-280 to disappear when Peter turned back. The monster was gone, so he turned off the light, and sure enough, it really was gone. Peter relaxed and concluded it was all in his head, yet he still felt jumpy.

280 hadn't gone far; however, he just teleported to the next room over, which was where Aunt May and Uncle Ben were sleeping.

[At the border (not Mexico)]

Ant had called an emergency meeting. It was taking place at the main gate; the only thing keeping the base hidden was that gate. He had called the meeting to set out their own manhunt for 280.

"Alright, I called this because a Keter-class SCP had been located, SCP-280 read up." He slid them each a description 280 as he maneuvered around them.

"This is our first rodeo with a Keter SCP, which is out there somewhere in Queens. Now I won't interfere in the planning unless it involves the use of resources we simply have limited access to, like the reality stabilizers. In that case, I will need a really concrete plan." After saying that, Ant waited for 1 minute before giving the order for all the guards to make their way to the queens and re-contain the SCP before it causes chaos.

When the green light is given, no hesitation is expected, and the guards wasted no time departing. The MTF was always ready, so they set out faster, and even if Ant wanted minimal casualties, the distance was too great to expect any less than 50 casualties. Ant only realized the crises he had created after thinking about it some more. He had received a keter SCP that was known to be violent and on sight for any human being, and he decided it was a good idea to spawn an SCP in the dark. Then he also remembered all the lore in the MCU Queens with figures like Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Fisk, if 280 managed to kill any one of them, whatever universe he is in will change.

[That's right... think twice next time]

Ant ignored the system; he didn't need to hear any more I told you so's from an unknown being that called him stupid daily. He had the capacity to learn from his actions, but it was just really hard to drill it into a thick-skulled idiot.

[Back with Peter]

Peter had calmed down, but he didn't want to sleep alone that night, or at least he didn't want to go to sleep like this. He opened the door to his room and looked both sides of the hallway before he went back into his room and pulled out his toy flashlight. He made his way to his aunt and uncle's room. When he was in front of the door, he stepped on something wet but didn't think much about it. His toy flashlight was still facing the door as he gripped the handle and twisted it.

The door opened, and his toy flashlight illuminated the sight inside. Little Peter didn't realize instantly what had happened, but he was now alone in the world. Aunt May has a hole through her; some pieces of her skin are missing, and she is covered in blood as her eyes are wide with horror, but still. Uncle Ben is missing his head, and only his lower body is visible, severely mangled. 280 had hidden when the light shone into the room and escaped into the outside through the window. Peter screamed louder than he would ever scream in his life.

The sight of the corpses was too much for a kid like him, and the tears streaming down his face mixed with the blood he stepped in before entering the room. The blood quaked as sound from Peter's scream passed through them.

280 didn't stop; however, he went from house to house repeating the cycle of death and extreme violence. Guts were strewn across walls, while some body parts were hanged from spinning fan blades, and others were embedded into walls as they were thrown hard from 280. Many screams rang out around the neighborhood, and those who turned the lights on survived; those who didn't would die painless of painfully if they were sleeping or not.

The police arrived fast, but long after 280 had moved further down the neighborhood, the scene the cops walked into made their stomachs drop and vomit to fly. Many detective made their way to the scene while the cops moved fast to find the culprit before he or she could continue the massacre. In the span of 2 hours, a total of 50 people had died brutally. It was not stopping anytime soon; it was prime hunting time for 280, even though it didn't require food or anything like that, it liked the hunt. Shield didn't immediately step in, but after the more abnormal findings made their way out of the scene, Shield stepped in. Shield wasted no time as they dispatched agents all over the Queens area. They also conducted their own investigations without letting up the heat. The scenes had no evidence that could connect them to a human, but from the security cameras that were present at homes, they confirmed the killer had a humanoid shape. Shield concluded that whatever they were looking for shared some human characteristics and might have some special powers that allow it to move around as it glides in the security cameras.
