Wei Yang raised an eyebrow slightly.

But before he could speak, Xiao Yan suddenly stepped forward and shouted, "Yun Shan, do you recognize me?"

"Xiao Yan? A remnant of the Xiao Clan?" Yun Shan's eyes swept over him, and he sneered coldly. "Three years ago, you were lucky—you weren't in the Jia Ma Empire, so you escaped. But instead of being grateful for your luck, you actually dared to come back? And appear before me?"

Xiao Yan laughed—but his eyes had already turned ice-cold.

"Why wouldn't I dare return? Yun Shan, you old dog—you're faithless and treacherous. You destroyed my clan. This blood debt… if I don't take that dog head of yours, it can never be repaid!"

Those words made the skin of many in the plaza twitch uncontrollably.

Yun Shan, the Sect Leader of the Yun Lan Sect, a dignified Dou Zong, was now being called an "old dog" in front of countless witnesses.

Even Yun Shan, cold and calculating as he was, couldn't keep his face from turning dark.

But after that flash of fury, Yun Shan's gaze slowly swept over the large number of figures in the sky above.

After a moment, his eyes fixed on Jia Xingtian and Fa Ma, and he let out a cold laugh. "So… Jia Xingtian, Fa Ma—you've chosen to side with this arrogant brat and stand against me?"

"Yun Shan," Jia Xingtian replied, his tone openly mocking now that the situation had reached a breaking point, "Your Yun Lan Sect's actions these past few years—and your ambitions—don't think we haven't noticed. You expect us to sit still and wait for the axe to fall? You underestimate us."

"Hahahaha! Good. Good. Very good. Very, very good!"

Yun Shan threw his head back and laughed.

"You people really are bold. Fine—then I'll deal with all of you together. Since you're already here, there's no need to leave."

As his wild laughter echoed, loud whistles suddenly rang out across Yun Lan Mountain.

In the blink of an eye, streaks of light flashed as powerful auras surged forth from the depths of the mountain.

Figures leapt into the air—a great number of Yun Lan Sect Elders, long since lying in wait, had finally revealed themselves.

The sight triggered another wave of unrest in the crowd.

From the look of it… a battle was now inevitable.

Yun Shan's gaze lingered on Jia Xingtian and the others for just a moment before turning away. Instead, he looked toward Wei Yang.

"Mister Wei," Yun Shan said with a gentle tone, "I, Yun Shan, have always held deep respect for talents such as yourself. I admire your skills in alchemy even more. The incident before was merely a misunderstanding. I apologize sincerely—and I'm willing to make amends afterward. Why not let this matter rest?"

This was the second time Yun Shan had openly lowered his posture.

Wei Yang said nothing. Instead, he slowly stepped forward and walked down to the plaza.

When his feet touched the ground, he waved his hand.

Thud!

A finely carved wooden armchair landed beside him with a heavy thump. Under countless confused gazes, Wei Yang sat down leisurely—facing the ceremonial platform directly.

"Yun Shan, we'll deal with you in a bit. Right now, I have something to ask Sect Master Yun Yun," he said calmly, brushing off Yun Shan's expectant look.

Yun Shan frowned slightly—but quickly forced a smile and gestured with his hand. "Today is my disciple's wedding, so it's inconvenient for her to speak. But since it's you, Mister Wei, there's no harm. Please, go ahead."

Wei Yang's gaze locked onto the woman in the red wedding gown standing silently beside Gu He, her posture slightly stiff.

He finally spoke, "Sect Master Yun Yun, years ago, we made a public agreement—Yun Lan Sect would sever its feud with the Xiao Clan. How do you explain this now?"

As his voice fell, the woman cloaked entirely in red trembled slightly.

Then, she lowered her head a little, as though in silent apology—but said nothing.

"Wei Yang, Yun Yun stepped down as Sect Leader three years ago. Since then, she's been in seclusion and hasn't interfered in any external affairs. The matter with the Xiao Clan had nothing to do with her," Gu He stepped forward, positioning himself in front of Yun Yun to answer on her behalf.

"I was speaking to Yun Yun. Who asked you to speak?" Wei Yang's gaze swept toward Gu He, his voice indifferent. "Also… who are you?"

"You—!" Gu He's face flushed bright red on the spot.

Was this really a question? Who didn't know who he was?

Only you could pretend not to know!

So what if you're a Dou Zong? Don't forget—I'm a Tier 6 Alchemist too!

Just then, Yun Yun finally moved. She raised her hand and gently pushed Gu He aside.

Taking a small step forward, she spoke softly, "What's done is done. No amount of explanation will change that. All I can say is… I'm sorry."

She bowed deeply to Wei Yang.

Then she turned, and gave Xiao Yan a deep bow as well.

Sharp-eyed onlookers instantly noticed two teardrops quietly slipping down from beneath the red veil, falling onto the stone ground with soft splashes that blossomed into crystal-clear droplets.

Then, Yun Yun straightened her posture and kept her head bowed in silence, saying nothing more.

Wei Yang gave a slight nod. "Your apology is accepted. Let's consider the matter settled. I won't trouble you today."

This issue had little to do with Yun Yun in the first place. Wei Yang just wanted a proper explanation. Since she had apologized sincerely, that was enough.

As Xiao Yan slowly descended to the ground, his eyes swept briefly over Gu He, then inevitably came to rest on the veiled woman beside him.

That familiar, graceful figure caused his heart to tremble ever so slightly.

Seeing this, Gu He's face darkened.

Especially when he noticed Yun Yun's body tremble ever so slightly under Xiao Yan's gaze.

The motion was subtle, almost imperceptible, but standing so close, Gu He noticed it clearly.

A wave of nameless fury surged up in his chest.

"Mister Wei has made it clear that the matter is settled, so you are a guest now," Gu He said after taking a deep breath. He suddenly turned his sharp gaze to Xiao Yan. "Xiao Yan, today is my wedding day. What exactly do you intend to do?"

Xiao Yan gave Yun Yun one last lingering glance before turning his eyes to Gu He.

"The Yun Lan Sect destroyed my clan. They slaughtered my people. Between me and Yun Lan Sect, there is a blood feud that will not end until one side perishes. And you ask what I intend to do?"

His icy gaze locked onto Gu He, voice as cold as frost.

"I came here today… to settle that grudge."

"Heh. I think you're just using revenge as an excuse. What you really want… is to ruin my wedding, isn't it?" Gu He sneered, his tone sharp with mockery. "What, even a blood feud this deep still can't make you let go of your pride?"

Xiao Yan was momentarily choked for words—but then he laughed coldly and shot back:

"A wedding? With the bride being nothing more than a puppet under someone's control, you actually dare to call this a wedding? I suppose only you, Gu He, would take such a farce seriously."

As he spoke, he suddenly flicked his finger.

A streak of emerald-green flame shot out like lightning!

In a flash, the flame appeared right before Yun Yun, who was still completely wrapped in her red wedding gown.

Just as the fire was about to strike her, a faint black glow surged from within her body and clashed directly with the incoming flame.

Boom!

A dull explosion rang out.

A ripple of force spread out from the collision, and Yun Yun—caught in the middle—staggered back two steps.

"Yun Yun!" Gu He exclaimed in alarm and reached out to steady her.

But from beneath the red veil, a cold voice—slightly trembling—drifted out.

"I'm fine."

This scene caused a wave of unease to ripple through the crowd—many people glanced at one another, beginning to sense that something wasn't right.

Under countless gazes, a pair of slender, jade-like hands slowly reached out from the sleeves of the voluminous wedding robe.

Then—she tore off the red veil.

As the veil fluttered away, a flawless, snow-pale, breathtakingly beautiful face was revealed to all.

That elegant, noble visage—who else could it be but Yun Yun?

She scanned the crowd briefly with her eyes, but then her gaze lowered, evasive. She kept her head down, never once daring to look toward Wei Yang or Xiao Yan.

Xiao Yan's face filled with icy mockery as he let out a sharp laugh.

"Yun Shan, to win over powerful allies, you've really gone all out. Willing to sacrifice even your own disciple—sealing her up and handing her over like a bargaining chip. Such vile and disgraceful means… truly, what a 'benevolent master' you are."

The crowd began to stir. Many people glanced at Gu He and Yun Shan with strange, uncomfortable expressions.
