Chapter 64 - Matching.

Liam's POV

I was already regretting standing near the staircase.

The house was slowly filling, music spilling faintly from the speakers in the ballroom, and polite greetings filled around as guests came in. I could feel their eyes lingering, their smiles too polished, their questions too predictable.

"So, Liam, any plans to release a new album?"

"When do we see you back on screen?"

They meant well, of course, but tonight I didn't care. My replies were polite and rehearsed, like most of my interviews. I nodded, forced a half-smile, murmured, ''We'll see,'' or ''Soon'' because I, myself, didn't know when the wave of inspiration would hit me to release a new music album.

But I wasn't able to concentrate today for a whole different reason.

My mind was upstairs.
