Video continues.
Elder Ye went on, "Given your current situation—restricted at every turn—there's no real hope of turning things around through cultivation alone. At this point, you can only rely on certain external tools."
"External tools?" Huo Yuhao's interest was immediately piqued.
Elder Ye continued, "In our world, Abyss invasions were an everyday occurrence. To better resist the Abyss, we didn't just focus on cultivation—our development of soul guides never stopped. Under the constant pressure of powerful external threats, soul guide technology advanced to a level you can't even begin to imagine."
"How powerful are we talking?" Huo Yuhao asked, unable to suppress his curiosity.
"The most destructive soul guides could obliterate a star with ease," Elder Ye said nonchalantly. "In other words, if we had such a soul guide and fired it at the Divine Realm, the Divine Realm would be gone."
"Hiss—soul guides can actually reach that level?!"
Huo Yuhao gasped in shock, his face full of disbelief. "But… wouldn't it take at least the power of a God King to activate something like that?"
"God King? Why would it require a God King's power?" Elder Ye asked, clearly surprised.
Huo Yuhao answered as if it were common sense: "Because the more powerful the soul guide, the more powerful the user must be. Otherwise, how could they unleash its full potential?"
"Looks like the soul guides in your world are still in a very primitive stage," Elder Ye said with a sigh. "In our world, soul guides haven't been restricted by cultivation for a long time. They're powered by energy cores. Even someone with no cultivation whatsoever can activate one by following the proper steps—and with it, even kill gods."
[Impossible!]
[How could a soul guide be used by an ordinary person?!]
[Does that mean even a regular person holding a powerful soul guide could easily kill a top-tier soul master?!]
[This is completely insane!]
[If the Sun Moon Empire had used soul guides like that during the invasion… the outcome of the war might've been completely different.]
[Yeah, once soul guides stop being limited by cultivation—even ordinary civilians could wield them. That's terrifying to imagine.]
[At that point, even commoners could stand equal to noble soul masters.]
[Absurd! Soul guides are clearly an evil path—they should be banned entirely!]
A barrage of comments flashed across the screen. Many viewers were utterly shocked by the soul guides Elder Ye described.
In the Divine Realm—
Tang San and the other gods found it hard to believe what they were hearing. Even among civilizations under their rule that had developed advanced technologies, everything still existed to support cultivation. As a result, their weapon development typically capped below god level—none of them had ever created anything that could threaten divine beings.
But the soul guides Elder Ye described shattered their understanding.
A group of ordinary people. No laws, no divine insight. Just pure technology… and yet they could slay gods?!
Preposterous! Beyond absurd!
…
"Soul guides… can actually be used by ordinary people?"
Huo Yuhao was completely drawn in. This kind of soul guide, so vastly different from what he knew, had opened a door he never imagined existed.
Soul guides—just from the name—were clearly made for soul masters. Only by channeling soul power could they be activated. But now, someone was telling him that there existed a kind of soul guide that didn't need soul power at all—one that even an ordinary person could use, and even kill gods with.
He was shaken to the core.
It felt like a door to a whole new world had just been thrown open.
Just as he began to feel hopeful again, imagining how he might soon crush everything with this advanced soul guide technology and take his revenge…
Elder Ye doused him with a splash of cold water.
"Don't get too excited just yet."
"Although the soul guide technology in my world is highly developed, I'm not an expert in that field. So for now, the only help I can offer are some ideas, some designs, and a few development directions. The rest, you'll have to figure out yourself."
Huo Yuhao's expression froze. But soon after, a flame of determination reignited in his eyes!
Even if he couldn't directly obtain the technology for those powerful soul guides, if he could gain a path forward—a new framework and advanced concepts—then, based on his own deep experience in soul guide development, he just might be able to recreate the kinds of soul guides Elder Ye spoke of!
What made this different from researching on his own? The key was that Elder Ye could provide the ideas and direction—he'd pointed out the path.
As long as Huo Yuhao followed that path, kept experimenting and researching, then eventually, he would be able to recreate what he envisioned.
When it came to scientific research, the biggest fear wasn't failure—it was heading in the wrong direction.
If your direction was correct, then even if you failed again and again, you could eventually find success through relentless experimentation. But if your direction was wrong from the start, no amount of research would yield results.
So even though Elder Ye couldn't directly hand over soul guide technology, his guidance in theory and direction was infinitely more valuable than fumbling in the dark alone.
"That makes my next goal crystal clear," Huo Yuhao said firmly.
"Research soul guides!"
He clenched his fists, and in that moment, his entire being seemed to come alive again. The fire in his soul reignited. He'd returned to that youthful, spirited version of himself—the Huo Yuhao who feared nothing!
The Huo Yuhao who once defied the heavens!
"Unfortunately, your strength is still too weak." Elder Ye sighed beside him. "If you had the power of a God King—and with my authorization—you might be able to barely activate a portion of the Feihong Sword's power. Then you wouldn't need to bother with soul guides at all. You could just sweep your enemies aside."
"But… wasn't this sword destroyed?"
Huo Yuhao looked over at the Feihong Sword, now reduced to only a hilt. No matter how he examined it, he couldn't see any remaining power.
"Destroyed? A creation-grade divine artifact… how could it possibly be destroyed so easily?" Elder Ye shook his head. "If you can find the remaining fragments of the Feihong Sword, I can reforge it. At that point, even if you're just a mortal, the sword's power alone would make you fear no one in the Divine Realm."
"But unfortunately, the sword is heavily damaged right now. Its power has drastically weakened. Just activating its remaining strength now requires a very high threshold."
"If you're not at the level of a God King, you won't even be able to stir the slightest trace of its power."
"What a shame."
Huo Yuhao's face filled with regret at those words.
If he had the power to take revenge right now, he would've already started swinging.
Did they really think he enjoyed soul guide research?
If someone handed him the strength to take vengeance immediately, he'd turn into a reckless brute on the spot and smash Tang San's dog head in with his bare fists!
Who needs to suffer and slog through soul guide development if he could just fight his way through?
