On the artificial island of Eden Noware—a blond, short-haired female, with a plus like structure in both of her eyes, wearing long sleeves in the humid summer weather— is waking back from a meeting at Major Tartaruse—a college of which the whole island is its campus—when she hears a struggle in a nearby alley way. In the alleyway, she sees what seems to be a fight between 3 men, 2 in black suits while the other is wearing a large Torn shirt. Feeling a sense of duty, Noware steps up to the 3 men to resolve the conflict, and so she could get a better profile on the men as it was too dark in the alley to make out any other features."What's going on here" Noware says, her voice firm as she looms over the three men.The two aggressors stop for a moment, caught off guard by Noware's arrival, and begin to talk among themselves."What do we do we can't let him escape," one of them says to the other."We can track him down at any time and we have an arcana right here-" the man is cut off when the homeless-looking guy runs further into the alleyway. Noware hurriedly chases him, shouting her credentials."Noware Orange, ROTC—flower division, second-in-command! I order you to stop!"However, he continues to run deeper into the alley. When Noware finally catches up she pushes him into a dead-end within the alleyway."Who are you" Noware demands, her gaze sharp for any deception. "Kizer, are you with them" Kizer skeptically asks weary of her intonation. "I -" before Noware could introduce herself the two other men rush by, pushing Noware aside. One of the men pulls out a gun, aiming it at Kizer, he pulls the trigger and unleashes a blinding light along with a loud boom.When Noware's sight finally returns, she sees Kizer lying in a pile of boxes with a gunshot wound—about the size of a quarter— on his shoulder. Noware runs to Kizer, first checking his pulse. After confirming he's only unconscious Noware calls for an ambulance to take Kizer to the ER. While she's waiting for the ambulance Noware only then sees Kizer's Womb, she didn't notice it at first because of the lack of blood that usually accompanies it."he's not bleeding…?" Nowhere says before inspecting the wound. When she touches the bullet hole, she feels her arcana start to fade and a chill runs down her spine, when she pulls her hand away a spark of lightning shocks her finger. Looking down at his hand she notices symbols on both of Kizer's hands, on his right is the symbol for male, and on his left is the Symbol for female. Finally, the ambulance arrives. They put Kizer on a stretcher and take him into the ambulance, Noware also gets in, even though she would rather inspect the scene. At the hospital, Kizer is immediately brought to the surgery room. An hour later, in the waiting room, the doctor told Noware "We removed the bullet however, there had been a device containing what seems to be a poison which had already taken effect, but he should live"."Is he awake?" Noware asks with a list of questions prepared."Sorry, he is still unconscious, try again tomorrow" the doctor responds.On the way to her dorm, Noware passes through a parade. Walking through the large crowd she remembers how potent the smell of arcana can be even when suppressing her own."Wait, I don't think I could smell Kizer's…" As soon as classes ended Noware rushed to the hospital. At the desk, she's pointed in the direction of Kizer's room. Walking in, she sees Kiser lying in bed looking out the window."How are you doing?" Noware takes a seat in a nearby chair.
"I was told I got shot but I don't remember anything after you cornered me…"
"Where am I?" Kizer asks, looking at the unfamiliar environment."You are at the Eden hospital," Noware says, her voice firm, maintaining her professionalism."Eden?" Kizer says, turning his head to face Noware, unfamiliar with the name."You've never heard of this island?! How did you end up here" Noware exclaims, flabbergasted by Kizer's ignorance.Kizer doesn't respond, still wary of Noware.Noware sighs "When are you getting discharged?" Noware says, looking at Kizer's hair, which had grown to the point of covering the majority of his face." 2 days," Kizer says."Ok, I'll pick you up at 11:30. Just two more question—who were those men from earlier?" Nowhere says with a stern voice, pulling out a notepad and a pen to take notes."How do I know you're not with them" Kizer says, ignoring Noware's question.Noware pulls out her ROTC I.D., "This organization was founded with the goal of gathering the arcana while simultaneously protecting the island"."I don't know who they are, all I know is that they aren't good people," Kizer says, as he grips the sheets in his fist..Leaving kizer's room Noware thinks to herself "I didn't smell a thing in their"The next day Nowhere enters a government building, uses a keycard to enter a secret hallway. She reaches a room at the end of the hallway and an eye scanner verifies her identity. Then she walks into a dark room with 7 people at a table. "So, did you secure his trust?" One of them says with a stern tone."I think so, sir," Nowhere says, standing at attention."What did he know?" another one says with a heroic tone."Sir, he didn't know much" Noware answers, before asking "What is this group that was hunting Kizer, I know you know who they are—" "Your job as of this moment is to watch over the boy that's all, you are dismissed !" Another one exclaimed."Do you think it could be him?" one of them says after Noware leaves."It's possible… we will know when he tests positive on the arcana test" another one responds."If he is I vote we—"Leaving the building, Nowere is pissed, wondering why the septenary where so secretive, when she spots the principal of the Major Tartaruse."Oh! I almost forgot!" Noware thinks to herself, marking her way to the principal she says "There was an order from the septenary to enroll this student" Noware hands him a paper with Kizer's information on it."He will need to take the arcan amplitude test before he can enroll, you know that right?" The principal says, looking through the paper."Is there really any need, We already have all 21 arcanas" Noware says, puzzled as to why they would waste tax money on it."It's just school protocol," the principal says before putting the papers into a folder and leaving.The next day Kizer is discharged from the hospital, and out in front is Noware waiting on a nearby bench. "Did you buy me these clothes?" Kizer walks up to Noware."Yeah, now let's get going, you need to take the Arcan amplitude test and get your college stuff settled" Noware gets up."College!?" Kizer says, unaware that he was going to college."If you're going to stay here you'll need to go to college, most of the young adults here do" Noware explains. "Oh, and you know what Arcanas are right?""Of course, who doesn't!" Kizer exclaims."Good. The Arcana amplitude test is how we find Arcanas" Noware explains, standing up and getting ready to leave "and before I forget" Noware gives Kizer a phone and a Wallet with his ID and a debit card. "The card has $1,000 on it for day-to-day living until you get a job""So that was what the photo was for" Kizer looks at his I.D.. Waiting for the bus Kizer asks "Are there no cars here?", while looking at the bus schedule."There are, there just isn't any need for them" answered nowhere, gesturing to get on the bus.The bus drops them off at a monorail station. Noware scans her I.D. at a gate and it opens. The station is futuristic with hints of brown to break up the lights and advertisements. While waiting for the monorail to arrive, Kizer catches a glance of a suspicious figure in a white hood, even though it was hard to see agents in the bright lights Kizer could see them carrying luggage. The monorail arrives and Kizer and Noware, along with all the other passengers, stuff themselves into the carts. On the monorail—after it leaves the station—it rushes through the sky giving the passengers a view of the city. After 20 minutes they finally make it to a building about half a mile away from the Tartaruse, There is a large machine, originating from the ceiling and tapering down into a dish. "I'll be in the lobby while you take the test" Noware informs Kizer as he finishes signing the sight-in sheet.After confirming Kizer's identity a nurse pricks his finger and puts the blood sample into the machine. After what seems to be forever the results are given. "It's negative," a nurse tells Kizer. "It's no surprise since all 21 arcanas have already been found," she says while writing some paperwork.
