The limousine rolled to a stop just outside the Gu family's residence. Its gates were lit with golden lamps, while the cars inched forward to drop off the guests at the entrance.
But instead of instructing Driver Dan to proceed through the entrance, Micah leaned forward lazily, resting his elbow on the edge of the seat. "Stop here," he murmured, his tone deceptively casual.
The driver blinked at the instruction but complied, pulling the car into the shadowed curve of the road.
Emile looked at him questioningly. "Why are we waiting?"
"I told you, I wasn't invited by the hostess," Micah said lazily, his eyes flicked at the entrance, the kind of look both mocking and bored.
"Oh…" Emile dragged the sound out. "So then what?"
Micah didn't answer. He just looked at his phone. Then the soft ding of a notification broke the quiet.

MW: Absolutely not! Mum would kill me.
