Chapter 13 - Five Elements Of Draogan Technique

Frozen Grasp – The Forbidden Technique

Natasha walked toward Kevin with a bright smile, while Hinata stood there, fuming. As if Kevin insulting her wasn't enough, now Natasha was also acting just like him! While Hinata cursed her younger sister under her breath, Kevin had already reached the ancient book.

Just as he was about to grab it, Natasha appeared beside him and grinned.

"Kevin, I also found a technique for you—this one!"

Before she could continue, Kevin sighed in annoyance and cut her off.

"Not interested. Put it back."

Without even sparing a glance at her choice, he picked up the old book in front of him.

Natasha's jaw dropped. He didn't even bother listening to the name of the technique before rejecting it outright!

Before she could respond, Hinata placed a hand on her shoulder and smirked.

"Your taste is questionable, little sister. But it's not really your fault."

Natasha's face turned red with embarrassment as Hinata repeated her own words back at her. Meanwhile, Kevin had already begun reading the ancient book.

"Ice Grip – This technique allows the user to shape ice freely, molding it into weapons such as swords, spears, or even defensive walls. However, its effectiveness depends on the user's level. If your level is insufficient—"

Kevin stopped reading mid-sentence, his eyes narrowing.

"This technique is exactly what I need. But... it's incomplete. Even so, I'm still going to learn it."

Hinata and Natasha both glanced at the book in his hands. The moment their eyes landed on the technique, they froze.

Hinata quickly spoke up.

"Kevin, don't pick this technique! It's incomplete and extremely difficult. Even if you meditate for five months, there's no guarantee you'll master it!"

Natasha nodded in agreement.

"Big Sis is right, Kevin. Pick something else. This technique will only lead to disappointment."

Kevin understood their concerns. They didn't want him to train tirelessly only to end up failing. But to him, this was the perfect technique. If he could defeat enemies just by willing ice into existence, why bother learning anything else?

His decision was already made.

"I don't care if it's incomplete. This is the one I'm going to practice."

Seeing his determination, Hinata and Natasha exchanged a glance. They knew that no matter what they said, Kevin wouldn't back down. With a resigned sigh, Hinata stepped forward and handed him a blank book.

"Copy the technique into this. Then put the original book back where you found it."

Kevin nodded, understanding her logic. If he took the original, no one else would be able to learn from it. Without hesitation, he began transcribing the contents of the ancient tome.

Unknown to most, this technique wasn't just incomplete—it was split into two parts. The first half was in Kevin's hands now. And the only one who knew the truth… was Sheshnaag.

Once he finished copying, Kevin carefully placed the original book back where it belonged. He then held onto the blank book that now contained his chosen technique.

Hinata, seeing that he had made his decision, spoke up.

"Alright, let's go. Kevin needs time to train."

Natasha and Kevin both nodded and started walking away.

But suddenly, Kevin stopped in his tracks.

Sensing his hesitation, both sisters turned to look at him.

Kevin's gaze was locked onto something—a massive stone slab. On top of it rested a giant iron box, tightly bound with thick chains.

A strange energy leaked from the box, making Kevin's skin tingle.

Then, Sheshnaag's voice echoed in his mind.

"Seeing this is making my blood boil… This only happens when it's either an old friend… or a mortal enemy."

Kevin's eyes narrowed.

"A mortal enemy? Who exactly are you talking about?"

Sheshnaag scoffed.

"Who else? The Dragon Clan."

Kevin's body tensed.

"Wait... are you saying there's a dragon inside this box?!"

Sheshnaag snorted.

"Do you think dragons are pets that can be locked away like this? No, this is probably a powerful Dragon Technique… Stronger than even your girlfriend's Phoenix technique."

Kevin's eyes widened.

He had seen Karishma use her Phoenix technique in battle. It was so powerful that even a blood serpent was obliterated instantly.

And now, Sheshnaag was saying this technique was even stronger?

Kevin's heart raced. There was no way he could just walk away from something this powerful!

Determined, he took a step toward the iron box.

But just as he did—

A hand suddenly landed on his shoulder.

His entire body stiffened.

Kevin turned around swiftly.

Standing behind him was a bald old man, his wrinkled hand pressing down on Kevin's shoulder. A sudden wave of pressure surged through his body, forcing him to his knees. A sharp cry escaped his lips.

Hinata rushed forward in alarm, her voice urgent yet respectful.

"Library Guardian, Master Eldon! What are you doing? Please, withdraw your power at once!"

Despite her repeated pleas, Eldon did not ease his grip. Instead, the pressure intensified. Kevin's vision blurred as pain shot through his body.

Natasha and Hinata watched helplessly, their expressions twisting in concern.

Kevin gritted his teeth, but it was useless—his body refused to move under the sheer force of Eldon's energy.

Then, suddenly—

BOOM!

An overwhelming presence filled the room.

Before Eldon could react, he was the one forced to his knees. His eyes widened in shock as a crushing aura descended upon him.

"M-Majesty! Please withdraw your power!" he cried out in desperation.

A cold, authoritative voice answered him.

"Eldon, I sent Kevin here to choose a technique for himself. And yet you had the audacity… to suppress him with your power?"

The King had appeared.

His piercing gaze bore into Eldon, his presence so chilling that the air itself seemed to freeze. For a moment, it felt as if Eldon would be executed on the spot.

But then, with a deep breath, the King reined in his anger and retracted his aura.

Kevin, now free from the pressure, stood beside the King, his expression dark as he glared at Eldon.

The elderly guardian bowed deeply, his voice filled with remorse.

"My intentions were never to harm him, Your Majesty. I was merely… testing him."

The King narrowed his eyes.

"Testing him? And what exactly were you testing?"

Eldon took a deep breath before answering.

"That boy… he approached the Five Elements of the Dragon technique. The very technique your son instructed me to safeguard. He told me to allow only those who are worthy to see it. So, I had to test the boy."

A moment of silence stretched between them.

The Five Elements of the Dragon…

The King's expression softened ever so slightly. Memories flickered in his eyes—memories filled with sorrow.

Even he had never mastered that technique.

Kevin, however, stepped forward, determination burning in his gaze.

"I misunderstood your actions, Master Eldon. But regardless… I still want that technique. What must I do to obtain it?"

Eldon raised a brow, impressed by Kevin's unwavering resolve.

Before he could speak, the King interjected.

"If Kevin wins the upcoming tournament, will you deem him worthy?"

Eldon fell into deep thought for a moment before nodding.

"Yes. If he wins, he will receive the Solar Blade—the key to mastering the technique. I have no objections."

Kevin and the King exchanged a glance.

Both of them exhaled in relief.

With his task complete, the King cast one final look at Kevin before disappearing.

Kevin turned back to Eldon and bowed slightly.

"Thank you."

But just as he was about to leave, Eldon's voice stopped him.

"I, too, wish for this technique to be passed on… but for that, you must—"

He suddenly cut himself off, his expression unreadable. Instead, he sighed.

"Win the tournament, Kevin. That is all I will say."

And with that, he disappear.

Hinata and Natasha immediately rushed to Kevin's side.

"Are you alright, Kevin?" Hinata asked, her voice laced with concern.

Kevin nodded, exhaling deeply.

"Who exactly is Master Eldon?"

Natasha answered.

"He is the guardian of the Technique Hall and one of our father's closest friends."

Kevin absorbed her words before glancing between them.

"Your father… where is he?"

The moment those words left his lips, both sisters fell silent.

A somber expression crossed their faces.

Hinata hesitated before finally answering.

"We don't know… We have never even seen him."

A heavy silence settled between them.

Kevin clenched his fists.

He understood their pain.

After all, he, too, never knew his parents.

The ones who raised him… were long gone.

Noticing the sudden shift in mood, Natasha quickly changed the topic.

"Kevin, you should start training. If you want to obtain the Five Elements of the Dragon, you need to prepare now."

Kevin took a deep breath before nodding.

His gaze flickered back toward the massive iron box—the very same one that had drawn his attention earlier.

For a brief moment, he felt as if a dragon made of earth was staring back at him.

But before he could dwell on the thought, he turned away and followed the sisters out of the Technique Hall.

As they walked through the grand corridors of the palace, Hinata suddenly asked—

"Kevin, you have a storage ring. So why are you still carrying the technique book in your hands? Did your ring… fill up?"

Kevin blinked.

That's right… he had completely forgotten about jack's ring.

He had been so preoccupied today that he hadn't even thought about using it.

Just as he was about to reply—

Two figures suddenly appeared before them, blocking their path.
