"Then I activate Fairy Tristan (Swimsuit)'s effect: negate your negation and destroy!"
With no cards left in her hand, Quetzalcoatl could safely activate Fairy Tristan's effect.
Great Cernunnos's True Hero attacked with a fatal gaze and the Origin Bullet simultaneously. She blocked the Origin Bullet, but was then engulfed by the Great Cernunnos's red beam. Quetzalcoatl now had no cards in her hand and only one card remaining on the field: the Aztec Priest.
"Ah, I've already lost."
Taiga Fujimura had somehow managed to pull herself free. Knowing Fairy Tristan's effect, she realized Quetzalcoatl, with only 3000 Life Points remaining, had no way to defend against it. "Quetzalcoatl, now you're just like me!"
"Is that so?"
Quetzalcoatl, never quite getting along with the unreliable Same-Pantheon Servant, replied, "That's fine by me. We can continue our blush-inducing physical exchanges!"
"Ha ha ha, I misspoke! Just pretend you didn't hear that!"
Taiga Fujimura immediately backed down, having been beaten mercilessly during this period.
"Fairy Tristan (Swimsuit)'s effect: Discard one card from your hand to reduce the Attack Power and Defense Power of all face-up servants on your opponent's field by 1000 points!"
Great Cernunnos opened his eyes once more. The killing intent emanating from the Celtic Main God next door was so overwhelming that the Aztec Priest lost the strength to even lift his weapon.
[ Aztec Priest ]: Attack Power 1200 → 200.
"Entering the Battle Phase! Lord Quetzalcoatl, I have overcome your trial. Now, please lend me your strength. Fairy Tristan (Swimsuit) attacks the Aztec Priest!"
"I've lost, haven't I?"
Facing the incoming blast of light again, Quetzalcoatl accepted the outcome.
"Since you've completed my trial, it's only natural that the gods would favor you. However, I have my own condition: you must never harm humanity. After all, I adore humans above all else. Their destruction would break my heart."
Quetzalcoatl LP 3000 → LP 0!
The aftershock of the battle calculation sent Quetzalcoatl flying. She rolled across the ground several times, yet never uttered a sound of pain.
"I promise you. Even if you hadn't asked, I would have done it anyway."
Jiang You immediately helped Quetzalcoatl up. "I'll tell you all my objectives. I'm not just going to defeat Uruk. I'll also be clearing out Gorgon and Tiamat's Magical Beast forces."
"Ara, I didn't realize you were such a battle maniac!"
Quetzalcoatl leaned casually against Jiang You. This conceptual-level weakness allowed servants whose power didn't primarily come from their true bodies to maintain their combat capabilities.
"Perfect timing, Sister. I need to maintain the facade of the Three Goddess Alliance anyway. You really came to the right person."
"Perhaps this is fate?" Jiang You chose the answer that would benefit him most.
Fairy Tristan rolled her eyes, glaring at Jiang You with disdain. In her eyes, his future sight had already predetermined everything. The man had completely abandoned his pride just to curry favor with others.
Jiang You keenly sensed Fairy Tristan's gaze. The girl seemed to hold no gratitude for his help.
"Lord Quetzalcoatl, there's something I'd like to ask of you."
"You're the one calling the shots now. The 'Lord' title feels awfully formal."
Quetzalcoatl had no airs about her. Having lost, she readily agreed to Jiang You's arrangements. "Speak your mind, Sister. What can I do to help?"
"This red-haired girl is the princess of the Faerie Realm. As the heir to her kingdom, she's still quite green, both in her dealings with people and in combat. This place, the Faerie Realm, was established to help her gain experience in managing interpersonal affairs."
Jiang You swiftly grabbed Fairy Tristan, who had sensed trouble and was trying to slip away. Having always been under Morgan's protection, her combat skills were laughably poor.
"As for combat, especially close-quarters combat, I would greatly appreciate your assistance," Jiang You added.
"Oh?"
Quetzalcoatl sized up Fairy Tristan. To be honest, she didn't particularly like this red-haired girl. The bloody scent clinging to Fairy Tristan reminded her of human sacrifices—a common practice among the Aztec Gods, so she kept her opinions to herself. "She can grow into a Heroic Spirit too... Hmm, upon closer inspection, it seems her outer form is that of a Servant, but her inner essence is still alive? And it's not possession either. Truly remarkable."
"Very well, I accept your request!"
Quetzalcoatl had little entertainment beyond hunting a hundred adult males daily and attending meetings at the Dark Temple. No matter how much she trained those men, they never lasted a round against her. Having Fairy Tristan as a sparring partner was naturally welcome.
"Damn you, Jiang You! Who wants to learn wrestling from this muscle-brained idiot?!"
Fairy Tristan had once admired the Knights of the Round Table, but she only wanted to learn swordsmanship. Wrestling? Absolutely not. She easily pried open Jiang You's hand, which was two strength levels below her own, and prepared to bolt.
"You should cherish this personal guidance from a Great God! When will you ever get another chance like this?"
Quetzalcoatl is just too easygoing, he thought. Which other Major God-class servant would agree to this? Jiang You resolved that if Fairy Tristan dared to run, he'd drag her before Zeus for a good zapping. "You brainless fool! All you have is pedigree and no discipline! Just wait until some country bumpkin wild mage beats you to a pulp, and Morgan loses all faith in you. Don't say I didn't give you a chance!"
Fairy Tristan froze. Though Jiang You had slipped in his own personal feelings about Morgan, given his previous prophetic successes, she completely believed him. To avoid disappointing Morgan, she obediently stopped in her tracks.
Just as Jiang You was thanking Quetzalcoatl again and preparing to leave, Quetzalcoatl's arm snaked around his neck, pulling him into a tight hold.
"You're actually a Heroic Spirit capable of growth, aren't you?"
"W-what's going on?"
Jiang You had a bad feeling. It seemed like the game was about to add new content.
"Your combat skills aren't even as good as this little girl's. Criticizing others isn't a good habit, you know. Your physical abilities are perfectly balanced—nothing stands out, but there are no weaknesses either. You've got great potential."
Quetzalcoatl pressed her face close to Jiang You, her gentle smile filling his entire field of vision. "Jiang You, why don't you join me for some wrestling?"
"Then let's wait until you've fully recovered. Definitely then, definitely!" Jiang You was already planning his escape. As for later? He'd figure out a way to dodge it then.
"We can do it right now."
Quetzalcoatl wrapped her arm around Jiang You's lower back. "With your current combat skills, you're no match for even an infant. Even in my weakened state, I could easily defeat you in close combat—like this!"
Then Jiang You felt the world spin, and he found himself faceplanting into the dirt.
