Chapter 222 - Chapter 221: Constructing a "Savior" Fairy Tristan

"The additional effects of your Noble Phantasm..."

Fairy Tristan continued reading the information provided by Jiang You's Noble Phantasm for a while. "Can it really resolve Mors' problem?"

"Absolutely. It can do it easily."

Although Shadow Games have limitations—they can only accomplish what the loser is capable of—for example, if you want to become a god, your opponent must at least be a god. However, severing the Mors Curse from the fairies is still within its capabilities.

"All you need to do is win a Duel against Mors, and you can even save them."

"What a powerful Noble Phantasm... But that's not something I accomplished. Anyone with your Noble Phantasm could do the same."

Fairy Tristan's enthusiasm waned. "Even if I succeeded, Mother wouldn't praise me."

"But it could be yours."

Jiang You had no intention of saving all the fairies anyway. He wouldn't even glance at these abstract matters if Morgan weren't trying to maintain the Faerie Realm.

"Only you and Morgan know about my Noble Phantasm in this world. We can simply claim it's your ability. I'll just be a regular Scribe."

"What's the point? Mother already knows it's your Noble Phantasm."

Fairy Tristan slumped in disappointment. She had actually hoped Jiang You would suggest some brilliant solution.

Then Jiang You struck her head hard, something he had wanted to do for a while.

"Your brain hasn't rotted away completely, has it?"

"You bastard!"

Fairy Tristan struggled to rise, but Jiang You pushed her back down.

"Think carefully! What does it mean that the Princess can resolve the irreversible Morse Disaster that plagues all fairies?"

Jiang You picked up a nearby book and began rapping it against Fairy Tristan's head repeatedly, as if trying to hammer knowledge into her skull.

"This will save countless fairies! It's a miracle, destiny fulfilled! It proves that Morgan's Princess—you—are the born savior! Regardless of their motives, the fairies will hail your name, solidifying Morgan's rule and ensuring Great Britain's eternal glory, unifying the world under her banner!"

While fairies care little for the lives of their comrades, they still crave survival. After all, only the living can experience pleasure. Once Fairy Tristan gains the ability to handle the Morse Disaster, even her fiercest detractors will have to praise her through gritted teeth. Of course, this excludes the few fairies whose minds are utterly deranged.

"So you're saying you want to deceive everyone into believing your Noble Phantasm is my ability, making me the savior of the fairies?"

Fairy Tristan found the proposal plausible, but having recently been tricked by someone, she had grown wary.

"But once I commit, I'll be completely at your mercy, right? Just like that bastard Beryl, you could plunge me into the Abyss at any moment."

"But without me, we won't even take the first step."

Jiang You extended his hand to Fairy Tristan again.

"What do you say, Miss Baobhan Sith? Shall we deceive the entire Faerie Realm together with lies? Let's forge a wicked savior."

"I hope you're telling the truth."

Fairy Tristan grasped Jiang You's hand in response. She had intended to use her superior strength to make the seemingly frail Jiang You suffer, but in her weakened state, she couldn't muster any force. Instead, Jiang You gripped her hand firmly in return. Gritting her teeth, she forced out, "I agree. But if you harbor any ulterior motives, I'll break all your limbs and hang you out to dry."

"Even if you don't trust my character, you should trust your mother Morgan's capabilities."

Jiang You glanced at his notifications. There was no Affection Reward, indicating that Fairy Tristan's Affection had barely increased.

"I lost to Morgan in a Shadow Game. According to its rules, I'm forbidden from lying to you. If you don't believe me, you can confirm it with Morgan herself."

Being upfront would save a lot of trouble and help earn Fairy Tristan's trust.

"Hmm?"

Because this lie was so easily disproven, Fairy Tristan believed Jiang You's explanation. She hadn't realized Morgan had already prepared everything for her. Feeling her mother's care, her cheeks flushed red. "Mother, I won't let you down!"

"Then consider you've passed the first stage. What should we do first?"

Fairy Tristan was eager to prove herself. Indeed, her mother's foresight was beyond her comprehension. Even Jiang You seemed more agreeable now.

Jiang You finally spotted some rewards in the notifications, but they were pitifully small.

"First, of course, we need to build our Decks."

Jiang You pulled out a stack of cards. He had more than three copies of some cards in his inventory, and since the linked System lacked options for dismantling or combining them, this was the perfect opportunity to put them to use.

"You know Morgan is quite busy, so don't bother her unless it's truly an emergency. Besides, you don't have much interaction with the other Fairy Knights, so you can't really unleash your full potential."

"But your inherent strength is actually quite impressive. You're more than capable of handling most trash mobs on your own, and you enjoy seeing others' twisted expressions, right?"

Jiang You gave Fairy Tristan mostly Trap Cards, since he had plenty in his Deck and figured she'd enjoy them.

"These cards can bring smiles to people's faces."

"Bring smiles?"

Fairy Tristan glanced at the cards in her hand and quickly grasped Jiang You's meaning.

"You're a truly vile bastard!"

Jiang You added a Fairy Knight Tristan Card to her mailbox. It seemed building Affection required catering to her preferences. Still, Jiang You hoped to mold Fairy Tristan into the kind of person he envisioned.

"Hmm, this one's good."

Fairy Tristan was constructing her deck, deliberately removing all cards related to Beryl. While Beryl could retrieve Morgan, she simply couldn't stand the sight of his face anymore.

"It feels decent, but there are far too few Servants," she muttered, her gaze fixed on Jiang You. She spread her hands. "Where are your cards? You claim to be my teacher, yet you're nowhere to be found in my deck. Hypocrisy, much?"

"I don't even have one myself," Jiang You replied, having anticipated this question. It was a common inquiry from anyone he interacted with. He promptly laid out his own deck.

"As for Servant Cards, they require the target's recognition to summon. I can't simply give you someone else's cards. If you want more Servants, you'll have to earn them yourself. But don't worry—once you start demonstrating your ability to dispel the Morse Curse, your collection of Servant Cards will grow rapidly."

"Fine."

Fairy Tristan examined Jiang You's deck and confirmed his words. "So, when do we begin this performance?"

"Before that, we have one more thing to do," Jiang You said, surveying the chaotic scene. "A house unswept? How can one sweep the world? First, we need to clean up this mess."
