Despite the traffic on the way, Axel, River, and Ollie arrived at the Cedar Grill House ahead of time. Which wouldn't normally be a problem, but…
"I'm so sorry, Sir, your table is not ready yet!" The hostess at the door apologized shortly after Axel gave her his name.
"…Ah." Axel paused, sweeping his eyes over the restaurant. It was far busier than it had been earlier in the day, and while it wasn't that there weren't ANY empty seats, but the only unoccupied table also had a reservation plate placed on top of it. It seemed to be for a larger group, though, so it wasn't as if they could swap it with Axel's.
It seemed that coming ahead of time wasn't always so good. Axel himself didn't mind so much - although he was getting hungry, he could afford to wait - but it was his first time taking River out, so he didn't want anything to go wrong…
"How much longer will it take?" he asked nervously, rubbing his fingers with his thumb.
