"But it's still confusing. Why were you even there, Director?" Juniper asked, her voice thin. "You could have just called an ambulance for me."
"There wasn't time to wait for an ambulance. I drove you here myself," Denzel said, his tone clipped and efficient. "Besides, I had intended to speak with you regarding the office culture. I'm aware the manager has been hiding things he shouldn't have."
Juniper shook her head slightly, a wince crossing her face. "But that makes it worse. You shouldn't be asking me about the company atmosphere. My colleagues already dislike me enough as it is."
"The person who did this will be found soon," Denzel stated, ignoring her protest. "This is the second time you've been hurt. The first incident might have been an accident, but this? This was intentional."
