Chapter 155 - Chapter 20: Reversing Time and Space

When Jason followed Wong's footsteps through the black stone road of Kamar-Taj, climbing up the steps one level at a time to the residence of Ancient One, he still felt a sense of surprise. This is the highest place in the world, and Kamar-Taj is surrounded by the majestic Himalayas.

The snow-capped mountains are like a solid wall, surrounding the entire Kamar-Taj under its protection.

It should be very cold here, as can be seen from the snowflakes falling from the mountain stream and the snow on the top of the mountain that never melts all year round.

But this small town in the mountains, Kamar-Taj, did not feel cold at all. Jason was still wearing his winter clothes from New York, but when he got here he even felt a little hot.

Because it can be clearly felt that the temperature in Kamar-Taj should be maintained at around 20 degrees Celsius, which is a very pleasant temperature.

Moreover, the air here is not as thin as Jason imagined. Although the oxygen content is indeed lower than that in the plains, it is not enough to cause people to suffer from altitude sickness.

Everything here goes against scientific common sense.

In fact, it can be said that magic itself goes against science, or to put it more accurately, magic itself goes against the scientific common sense currently known to mankind.

"Can you tell me where this place is?" Jason followed Wong's footsteps and walked through the town.

"This is Kamar-Taj, a magical garden." Wong slowed down and began to explain to Jason.

"This is a secret place in the Himalayas. Only with the permission of the Supreme Sorcerer can others set foot here."

"We are followers of the Ancient One, learning magic and infinite knowledge from him." Wong said there was a kind of worship when he talked about the Ancient One.

Kamar-Taj is not very big, it is just a very small town, but the architecture here is very interesting.

There is a feeling of traditional Chinese Han-style architecture integrated with Tibetan architecture and even some Indian architecture. Here you can see flying eaves, blue bricks and gray tiles.

You can also see the magnificent glazed dome and white walls.

As they passed by, other mages who were practicing here also greeted Wong. They used a complicated etiquette that Jason did not quite understand.

There is a wide square in the center of Kamar-Taj where many mages practice in various ways.

Some people were sitting cross-legged and suspended in the air, while others had their hands emitting golden light and a mysterious magic circle was taking shape in their hands.

Many more people were holding huge books and reading in the sunlight. (Note: It is night in New York, but it is daytime in China now.)

What Jason couldn't understand the most was that there was a group of people drawing circles in the air with their hands, but the air in front of them didn't change at all.

This action looks ridiculous.

Is this also a kind of training? What are you training? Is it training your own face and ability to avoid laughing?

Maybe one day I will encounter Ghost Rider riding a Phoenix 28 or a Ghost Rider riding an electric scooter, so as to avoid being killed instantly by the other's funny performance?

This short journey opened Jason's eyes, and everything that happened here made him feel incredible.

"Master Ancient One is waiting for you inside, go in, Nightwalker." Wong stopped in front of a vermilion house.

She pointed at the house which didn't look very special.

The environment here was different from what Jason had imagined in his mind. The residence of the Supreme Sorcerer seemed a bit too simple.

This was not disrespect to Ancient One, but for a wizard with such power, Jason would not be surprised that he lived in the most luxurious palace in the world.

Although this vermilion house looks quite grand, it is only a little grand and seems to be completely unworthy of Ancient One's status.

When Jason opened the door, he walked through the atrium under Wong's guidance and came to a spacious hall.

Ancient One was sitting cross-legged in the middle of the hall meditating. He knew that Wong had brought the person he wanted to see, and he slowly opened his eyes.

"Master, Nightwalker is here." Wong saluted Ancient One.

Jason followed Wong and saluted Ancient One, but because he was not very familiar with the etiquette of mages, Jason's salute looked a bit out of place.

"Thank you, Wong. You can leave first. I need to talk to Nightwalker alone." Ancient One's tone was very calm, and it sounded relaxing.

"Yes, Master." Wong slowly walked out of the hall and closed the door before leaving.

"Wong told me that you are special." Ancient One left his cross-legged sitting position, stood up and slowly walked towards Jason.

There was an inexplicable aura of oppression from Ancient One. Jason didn't know whether it was deliberate or exuded unintentionally by Ancient One.

But this pressure made him feel a little uncomfortable.

"Respected Supreme Sorcerer, what is your command for me?" Jason lowered his attitude because Iron Fist had told him the story of Ancient One.

This is a master who can tear a demon god into pieces and throw his body into the universe to shock others. It is better for me to be humble.

"Because I'm curious." Ancient One smiled and circled around Jason twice. The pressure from him seemed to have subsided at this time.

This made Jason feel a little more comfortable.

"You are a weird practitioner." Ancient One stopped observing Jason in circles and stood directly in front of Jason.

His eyes revealed a thoughtful look.

"I know almost all the schools of practitioners on Earth. Even if I don't know them, there are books about them in the library of Kamar-Taj."

"And you are special. There is no other practitioner on earth like you. Where does your power come from?"

Ancient One's words were very soft, but they were like a thunderclap in Jason's ears.

When Ancient One got the news about Jason, he was simply interested in Jason who possessed special powers.

As mentioned before, Earth now needs more warriors, and Ancient One is selecting guardians worthy of training.

The Nightwalker was on his list, but after meeting Jason today, Ancient One discovered that Jason seemed to have some secrets, and he had no way of knowing whether these secrets were good or bad.

"I can't explain the source of my power, Master." Jason was not going to hide it because he knew he probably couldn't hide it.

And where on earth could he hide without being discovered by Ancient One? Jason couldn't find it, so before coming here, he had thought that he had been seen through.

Now, his only problem was how to gain Ancient One's trust and make him believe that he had no ill intentions.

"You can understand my power as the reward for doing good or righteous deeds." Jason used a more euphemistic statement to explain the source of his power.

"No need to explain, because I will figure it out." Ancient One said calmly.

At this moment, Jason had almost no power to resist as his six senses were blocked, and the hall where Ancient One was was instantly covered with mirror walls.

Ancient One liked Nightwalker's behavior, but he didn't expect that behind Nightwalker was a terrible demon controlling everything.

Moreover, the energy in Jason was very strange, and it seemed to be deliberately showing itself.

Originally it should have been hidden very deeply, and Ancient One should not have been able to find it at all, but when Ancient One was circling around Jason.

This energy appeared deliberately, as if it was specifically telling Ancient One, I am here.

What was this? A provocation to the Sorcerer Supreme? Or was there something else going on?

When the wizard's mirror wall was erected, the power began to become more and more apparent, and even before the wizard wanted to find out what was going on, it appeared in front of Ancient One.

A small ball of blue fire appeared from Jason's chest. This feeling made Ancient One feel familiar yet unfamiliar.

He could hardly restrain himself from stretching out his fingers to touch the blue flame. You know, in the world of magic, it is very dangerous to touch anything unknown with your body.

Ancient One knew this well, but at this moment he couldn't control his fingers, as if he would lose an important opportunity if he didn't do so.

And there is a possibility that he will make a decision that he will regret for the rest of his life.

No one knew what happened when Ancient One's fingers touched the blue flame.

It seemed like a long time passed before Ancient One broke away from the contact with the blue fire, with a thoughtful expression on his face.

There seemed to be some struggle, but the decision was made quickly.

He pulled out a magical object from the chest of his wizard robe, a padlock with complex patterns and layers of seals.

Beneath these layers of seals, there is a powerful force fluctuating, with a green gem embedded in it.

"I hope my decision is right." Ancient One whispered.

He unlocked the seal on the green gem, and a huge wave of magical power surged out instantly, but Ancient One was already prepared.

He gathered all his magic power, and a green magic circle formed between his hands. At this moment, the timeline began to reverse.

The mirror wall fell, Jason's six senses recovered, and Wong reappeared in this room.

The whole world seems to be in reverse, and everything is attributed to a specific point in time.

When Jason followed Wong's footsteps through the black stone road of Kamar-Taj and climbed up the steps one level at a time to the residence of Ancient One, he had a strange sense of déjà vu.

Have I been to this place before? Why do I feel strangely familiar? Have I been a little dazed these days?
