"Your majesty," Briar greeted, bowing her head
But Davion and Edith were slightly taken aback at the sight of Briar. They exchanged glances briefly before turning to her again. Her head still bowed.
Seeing her here like this, Edith couldn't help but be grateful that they took their time and waited until Davion had returned back to his normal self.
Edith, who had been holding Davion in order to keep him steady, instinctively let go and took a step away, but Davion held her in place. His hand went around her waist, pinning her by his side.
She glared at him, silently urging him to let go, but he acted ignorant to her silent complaints. Sighing inwardly, she stood still and acted as if everything was okay.
"Miss Lorette," Davion finally acknowledged her, and she raised her head.
