Mia was truly terrified. Her pulse quickened with every step that Edith took forward, and Edith knew this. She could sense her fear.
"Why do you resist, Mia?" Edith asked.
She didn't know this woman's story, and it was also her first time seeing her even though her name was new and strange. Her energy, despite the familiarity, felt different as well, which Edith found strange.
"I can't say. Please…your highness, I beg of you let me go," she pleaded, even falling on her knees, trying to hold back her tears.
Edith chuckled, dark and emotionless. "If that is the case, then you are better off dead."
The jewel on her arm moved, slowly changing shape, and finally took the form of a sword on her left hand.
Mia's eyes widened and sprung up to her feet.
"Will you talk now?" Edith asked.
"What's going on here?" Magnus's cold voice came from behind Edith even before his silhouette could be seen.
