Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

"Zane" Aria said her breath slowing "what is it?" He asked turning and kneeling to her. "You can stop" she told him. "All those file are probably useless anyway" she told him. "No" he said. "We came here to get these files the least we can do is take them with us" he told her as he stood back up. And turned to the cabinets once again.

Suddenly the large cabinets above had come down, onto him pinning him against the wall away from Aria. "Zane" she yelled with an attempt to get up but to weak and cold to really move. Her body seemingly frozen.

"Elliot!" Julia called out to her brother. "I think I see something"

"Thank go" Elliot said as he ran through the snow to his sisters side. "Come on" Julia said as they both began to run towards the factory.

When the got inside they brushed the snow off themselves before they began to look around.

"Who are you?" A man's voice questioned as Elliot and Julia turned to look at him. "Who are you?" Julia asked the strange man. "I'm Mark Simpson, I'm here for my alpha" he told them. "Your Alpha?" Elliot questioned "Zane is a wolf?" Julia said. "What are you witches doing here anyway?" He asked. Elliot and Julia looked at each other. "We're here for Aria" Julia said. "It's been hours since we last heard from her and we got worried" Elliot added.

"Seems like it was good to worry then" mark said looking up at the second floor of the factory. "Why?" Julia asked. "I smell blood" he said making his way up with Elliot and Julia following behind him.

"Zane!" Mark shouted walking up the stairs. "We're in here" Zane voice came through a solid steel door. "We can't get out!" He shouted. "And Arias in bad shape!" He added. "How are we gonna get in there" mark asked turning to the twins

"Get out of the way" Julia said. "Wait" Elliot said grabbing his sisters arm. "Are you sure about this?" He asked her. "I have to do this" she said with determination. Julia put her arm up towards the door and concentrated on it. "lique" she said. As the door began to melt away, the air filled with the smell of burnt metal and something else—something coppery. Julia felt her heart race, knowing they had no time to waste. She glanced at Elliot, who looked both worried and proud.

"Julia, are you really sure about this?" he asked, "you can't go much longer" he said his voice barely above a whisper.

"I have to do this," she replied, determination flooding her veins. "Aria needs us."

With a final push of her energy, the door crumbled into a puddle of molten metal, revealing a dark room. beyond, The sound of Zane's voice echoed through the space, filled with panic.

"Zane!" Mark shouted, as the 3 of them stepped stepped over the molten metal. the now melted door still crackling from her magic. Julia felt the weight of her choice—using her powers was risky, especially in a place like this, but she couldn't let fear hold her back.

As they entered the room, the sight before them was alarming. The front of the room was covered in blood, and a man, torn apart and lifeless, was apparent. It was obvious Zane had revealed his wolf form.

Aria lay on the ground, pale and still, while Zane was trapped against the far wall, his eyes wide with concern.

"Get to her!" Zane urged, his voice strained. "I can't move!"

Julia ran to Aria's side as Elliot and Mark began to take the filing cabinets off of Zane.

Julia felt Aria's skin; it was like ice. Memories of their friendship flashed through her mind—Aria's laugh, her bravery, the way she always knew how to make Julia smile. Julia turned to Elliot, who helped Zane stand up along with Mark. "She's barely breathing," Julia said, tears brimming in her eyes.

"The nearest hospital is 10 miles away, and there's no way she can go out in that storm," Mark said. "You're witches; can't you two use teleportation magic?" Zane asked. "It's an extremely powerful type of magic. Most witches can't do it," Elliot said. "But can either of you?" Zane asked. Julia and Elliot looked at each other.

"No," Julia told him. "But if you know a witch who can, we can use a spell to contact them," Elliot said.

"We definitely know someone," Mark cut in, his voice filled with hope. Julia's heart skipped a beat. Whoever this witch was, they were Aria's best chance.

Working together with the limited information they had, Julia and Elliot held hands and closed their eyes, repeating a series of strange words. "iungo nos ad unum quod vis, vox eorum per nos veniat."

"Well, this is new," the twins said at the same time, their voices merging into one. "Lyra?" Zane said, surprised. "Zane," Lyra questioned. "What are you doing contacting me like this? Where's your phone?" she asked.

"That's not important right now! We don't have time!" he told her, urgency lacing his voice.

"I need you to do a spell to teleport the five of us back to the pack, preferably as close to the pack hospital as possible," Zane said, his heart racing.

"I'm on it," she replied. Suddenly, Julia and Elliot opened their eyes, a wave of exhaustion washing over them as they fell to their knees. "Did it work?" Julia asked, breathless and trembling with anticipation.

"It worked," Zane answered, relief flooding his voice as he turned back to the still unconscious Aria.

"How long will it take for her to take us there?" Elliot asked, looking up at Zane. "It shouldn't be-"

Suddenly, the five of them appeared in the pack hospital. "-Long," Zane finished, his eyes wide as he took in the chaos around him.

Doctors and nurses, all part of Zane's pack, flooded to their alpha's side. "I'm fine; she needs you," he told them, urgency lacing his voice. The nurses rushed to Aria with a stretcher, quickly placing her on it. "Her name is Aria Verdreaux. She's 21 years old, she's lost a lot of blood, and definitely hypothermic," Zane explained, his heart pounding as he watched them spring into action.

"Don't worry, Alpha, we'll take care of her," one of the doctors assured him, but Zane could feel a knot of fear tightening in his stomach as they wheeled Aria past the double doors that non-staff were not allowed to enter through. He clenched his fists, torn between hope and helplessness, wishing he could do more.
