Maximilian then took a few steps back and fired a grappling hook toward a nearby building. But—

Oldcowboy fired another shot, severing the grappling hook's cable.
Maximilian didn't care. Using the momentum from the hook, he propelled himself into the air.
Midair, his cape transformed into a glider, stabilizing his flight, and the jetpack on his back activated, powering the glider and letting him soar away from the scene.
"That boy is quite slippery..."
Oldcowboy muttered, holstering his gun.
