Aurora hurried to the car, leaving Josh behind, who was also shocked to see Alex there.
"Alex, why didn't you say you were returning today?" Aurora asked. No longer walking, she almost ran to him. When she saw him open his arms and smile, she embraced him.
"I missed you," she whispered, too shy to reveal her genuine emotions to him. Her voice reached Alex, and he responded by tightening his embrace.
After a few moments, Alex finally loosened his arms. "I wanted to surprise you," he said softly, meeting her gaze. "How was your first day?"
Suddenly, Aurora's expression changed from loving to tense. She needed to speak to him about his arrangement for her to do an internship in his office.
How could this man relocate so many people just to clear the entire fifty-seventh floor for her?
