Chapter 41 - Searching for the Monster Slayer

While everyone slept that terrifying night — one of the most dangerous nights the village had ever faced due to the monster attack — Isabel and Fern woke up early in the morning.

Mohammed was still asleep, sitting with the sword in his hands.

When Isabel saw him, she brought a blanket and covered him, saying:

"What a kind boy! Even though we are his slaves, he cares about our comfort and takes great care of us. Is it because of his past that he treats us this way? I wish I could ask him about that."

Fern asked Isabel:

"Should we wake him up or not?"

Isabel replied:

"No, let him rest a little. He seems tired from yesterday. He came back very late, so we should let him rest. I'm going to get breakfast. Come with me and help."

Fern replied:

"Alright, I'll come."

And so the siblings went out to get breakfast.

As they left, Mohammed opened his eyes and smiled, saying:

"What kind siblings! They could have escaped or killed me and taken my money, but they chose this instead. They went to get breakfast for me."

Mohammed stood up and said:

"Ah, my body hurts so much from sleeping on the ground. Really annoying."

While Mohammed was moving his body a little in the room, Isabel and Fern went downstairs to get breakfast, but they were surprised to find knights and their leader, James, asking about the innkeeper.

Isabel didn't care and continued walking to order breakfast, but one of the knights stood in front of her and said:

"We'd like to ask you something. Do you mind?"

Isabel replied:

"No, I don't mind."

The knight asked:

"Did you see anyone leave the inn last night?"

When Isabel heard this question, she felt that something had happened. Mohammed had indeed gone out last night.

She answered:

"No, I don't know anything. I was hiding in my room and never left it."

The knight asked:

"Are you in the room with just a child?"

Isabel replied:

"No, my master is there, and he is currently asleep."

The knight said:

"Can you tell your master to come down?"

Isabel answered:

"No, I can't do that. My master is sleeping and very tired from traveling. And if he had gone out, the innkeeper would've noticed. What's going on here anyway? Why all this questioning?"

The knight said:

"Last night we found fifty monsters dead. We're here looking for the one who did it. I want you to inform your master, and we'll reward him if he was the one who helped kill the monsters."

Isabel was shocked:

"What? Fifty monsters are dead? Who could possibly kill them?"

She ran outside the inn and saw more than fifty dead monsters, including ghouls and orcs.

She was terrified at the sight of these huge creatures. The only person who came to her mind was Mohammed, since he was the one who had gone out last night and came back covered in blood.

She asked herself:

"Could Mohammed kill fifty monsters? I don't think so. How could such a kind boy do that? He's so young."

She went to the knight and said:

"Actually, my master can't do that. He's only sixteen years old. It's impossible for him to kill all those monsters."

The knight replied:

"Really? He's very young. I thought he was an adult. Well, I'm sorry for wasting your time. You may go."

Isabel and Fern went to order breakfast from the waiter. She said:

"Please, I'd like breakfast for three people."

The waiter brought the breakfast, and then Fern and Isabel went back up to their room.

They entered the room thinking Mohammed was still asleep, but were surprised to find him awake doing exercises.

Mohammed had taken off his shirt, which was stained with blood, and was doing push-ups.

When Isabel opened the door, Mohammed stood up shirtless. Isabel saw his strong body and defined muscles.

She was surprised by Mohammed's physique and felt shy. She thought to herself:

"He's so handsome! How could a boy like him have such amazing muscles?"

She couldn't take her eyes off his muscles and was lost in thought.

Mohammed said:

"Sorry you saw me like this. I'll put on my shirt."

Isabel replied:

"No, it's okay."

Inside, she thought:

"Ah… He's like my dream knight. A handsome boy with amazing muscles."

Mohammed:

"Why is it so noisy downstairs?"

Fern:

"Knights are looking for whoever killed the monsters to give them a reward."

Mohammed:

"Did they find out it was me?"

Fern:

"No, they haven't discovered who killed the monsters yet."

Isabel:

"Who could it be? It seems like someone left the village… Who did this?"

Mohammed:

"Good, they haven't found me out yet."

Isabel:

"Haha, yes, good."

After a moment, Isabel asked:

"Was it really you who fought all those monsters alone?"

Mohammed:

"Yes, I'm the one who did it last night."

Isabel and Fern were shocked by Mohammed's strength. They knew he was strong, but not to that extent.

Their curiosity grew about Mohammed's past and where he came from.

Isabel thought to herself:

"At first glance, you'd think he's just a sweet and handsome boy… That he wouldn't even kill an ant. Who would've thought he's a beast hiding behind a mask of kindness and beauty?"
