Chapter 1 - A cold night

On one certain night, under the cover of the gloomy dark. An unknown figure of a man is seen due to the somber light of his torch.

If you look closely, he looks like any other ordinary man, albeit only above average in terms of looks.

His height standing at an average of six feet, his hair dark brown, his skin that is a bit tan, but still considered light skinned compared to people that worked in the field.

The man had sharp features, with a well defined jawline, and his eyes, even though it was clear, it was still on the segment of ordinary, honing a dark brown color.

He's easy to look at, but not someone you can say that is handsome. On any ordinary day, he might just look like an ordinary young man that you can ask directions to if in case you are lose.

And that young man, adorned with dark clothes, is seen digging.

To some its already not ordinary for someone to dig in the middle of the night, but aside from that, people will question this young man as he is digging on a place most considered taboo and sacred.

Yes, this young man that doesn't seem to be out of his twenties yet, is digging in a graveyard.

"Huff, Huff, Huff" the young man breath as he kept on digging

"Bloody hell, if only I had money to hire grave robbers!" the young man grumbled

"But nooooo, here I am, the idiotic son of a Duke, sent to rule a God forsaken wasteland of a barony" he continued

"Heck, even if I did receive memories or dreams from that other me, I still consider it useless" he sighed, yapping and grumbling as he dug the grave

"Screw this, screw this, screw this! AT LEAST GIVE ME AN ALLOWANCE! " he complained

And as he yapped, grumbled, and digged, eventually he heard something

'Clank'

Hitting jackpot, the young man finally reached the coffin he was searching for.

"Jackpot!" He celebrated

The young man threw the space away, and used his hands to remove the excess dirt that the spade was not able to remove, dirtying the already dirty clothes he had.

Once the lid of the coffin was finally seen, he slowly opened it.

"Hopefully you're useful" the young man said with hope in his voice.

As he open the coffin, he saw the skeletal remains of a deceased man.

Clad in rusted armor, holding a rusted sword in between it's chest, the skeleton looked peaceful and dignified as he laid in his eternal resting place.

The young man looked at the skeleton with a slight grin to his face

"Great Knight of the Western Realms, Gregory Greeves" He stated looking at the skeleton

"Finally, I found you" He continued.

"For a Great Knight to be burried on an unknown grave in basically the far edge of the Empire, this seems like a fitting peaceful end for a life filled with grief and pain" The young man exclaimed sympathetically

"But, I apologize, let me use your power Sir Gregory" The young man stated, as he looked at the skeleton with a complicated look on his face.

The young man then went up from the grave he dug, he slowly dusted and organized himself before looking once again at the deceased Knight.

With a solemn look on his face, he looled at the corpse. He then slowly raised his hand at the level of his chest, with his palm facing upwards.

Slowly a dark flame engulfed his hand, although it may seem like any ordinary fire, the color distinguished it from any other ordinary flames, and along with it is the purplish hue of light it emmited.

"Engulf" The young man stated

The flames then covered the corpse, fully engulfing it with its dark purple flames.

And as the flames covered the body, the young man lowered his hands and looked intently at the corpse.

"Great Sir Gregory, your strength is once again needed for the sake of protecting, I beg you hear me" He stated

"Awaken" He said in a deep voice

The flames then grew, and the purple light became brighter covering the light the torch emmited.

Slowly the flames subsided, and in between the subsided flames stood a figure clad in armor with a sword on its hands, holding it as if he is praying.

The young man looked at figure

"Thank you" He said with a smile

Although the Skeleton Knight was not able to say any word, he bowed to the young man, somewhat acknowledging the words told to it earlier.

Smiling, the young man then looked proud of himself, and looked beyond the horizon where the sunrise was slowly rising.

"Arms at the ready Sir Knight" He looked at the skeleton, somewhat excited with his newfound companion and the heartily said to it.

"We have bandits to kill"
