Chapter 140 - Chapter 138 – Goals!

Originally, Harry had planned to study magic with Snape during the summer holiday. But the sudden influx of memories had disrupted that plan. Naturally, Harry no longer needed to go to Snape.

The next day, Harry went to the Leaky Cauldron to check on the progress.

In just a few short days, a large building had risen from the previously flat ground, and the overall structure was already visible. At this pace, in the Muggle world, such progress would have taken at least half a year.

Harry saw more than a dozen wizards busily waving their wands. Various building materials floated through the air as the building rose before his eyes—it looked like watching a fast-forwarded video.

Because the house had been demolished, Harry couldn't find a point of reference and had to spend some time locating the entrance to Diagon Alley.

As he stepped out of the wall, he saw a long line of people in the distance.

Harry didn't go into the Magic Castle store. Just seeing the booming business was enough to put him at ease. In a few days, new products would be launched one after another. It was this continuous innovation that would allow the Magic Castle to thrive for the long term.

Now that he knew Muggle-style fast food was so well-liked by wizards, Harry figured he could open two more branches—this had been part of his original plan anyway.

It would cost him all the Galleons he had left—everything aside from the money reserved for the next two years of school expenses.

Of course, Harry didn't mind.

This was also because he had no real place to spend money on himself, which made him willing to pour all of it into the business.

Diagon Alley was the most prosperous commercial street in Britain's wizarding world. All the famous brands had shops here. Of course, the fanciness of a shop had nothing to do with its history. Just look at Ollivanders, a wand shop that had been around for over a thousand years. Though the place was clean and well-known, the interior decoration wasn't much better than the general store next door.

Diagon Alley wasn't the only place wizards gathered in Britain—it was just the most famous and the most populous.

Harry's two new branches would be opened in other parts of the UK. He had already looked at a wizarding map at Flourish and Blotts: the two new locations would be in Northern Ireland and Scotland.

There were two wizarding hubs in those regions, similar to Diagon Alley.

Then Harry thought about what else he still needed to do.

Recalling the developments of the future, he remembered a few important matters.

But before worrying about those, Harry had come up with a few personal goals.

Honestly, ever since coming to this world, even though he knew how the future would unfold, Harry had never set himself any real goals. He simply focused on doing what was right in front of him.

Otherwise, he would've already gone looking for "Joe" or "Ma."

But Harry never thought that way, because he was aware he had a Horcrux inside him. His life could end at any moment without warning.

Only after eliminating Voldemort's soul did Harry truly feel a sense of self-belonging, like a weight had been lifted from his heart.

So naturally, he set some personal goals:

First, to learn all magic. Even if not all of it, then as much as possible. This was Harry's interest and joy.

In Harry's view, living in a world of magic where magic was so fascinating, not making magic the number one priority meant you had something wrong with your brain.

It was a difficult goal. Magic came in countless forms and categories. Harry would bet that even combined, Voldemort and Dumbledore hadn't learned even one percent of all existing magic. Regular wizards didn't stand a chance.

The biggest obstacle to this goal was the shortness of human life—but Harry had the Philosopher's Stone. That was his greatest advantage. While others worried about their lifespan, Harry didn't have to.

Second, to stand at the pinnacle of the magical world—in terms of both strength and reputation. Harry didn't think this would be too difficult. He believed that in the process of pursuing his first goal, these things would naturally follow as bonuses. Besides, he already had a decent reputation.

Third, to completely eliminate Voldemort. The world was such a beautiful place—why should someone like Voldemort be allowed to exist, someone who wanted to dominate and oppress others with power? That would ruin Harry's life experience. Such heresy had to be eradicated.

Harry thought for a moment and added a fourth goal: "I don't have many friends… so I should make more."

Harry figured that last one was probably a side effect of Voldemort's influence.

Thus—Harry's four ultimate goals.

Gently holding Little Cutie, Harry walked toward the hotel's front desk.

"Good morning, sir. Is there anything I can help you with?" a warm-smiling receptionist with faint freckles stood up and asked.

"I'll be leaving the hotel for a few days. I was hoping you could help take care of my cat," Harry said as he lifted Little Cutie up for her to see.

Though rare, such requests weren't unheard of. Five-star hotels offered excellent service and would do everything possible to meet their guests' needs.

The freckled girl gave a reassuring smile. "Of course. Is there anything special we should pay attention to?"

"Don't tie her up with a leash. You can keep her in a cage, but make sure to prepare fresh food. She likes it fresh. Other than that, there's nothing in particular." Harry took out a hundred-pound note. "This is for food." Then he handed her another hundred as a tip.

Giving tips was a custom abroad; not giving one would be impolite.

Even his stingy aunt and uncle would give tips when dining out—usually a fifty-pence coin.

The freckled girl took Little Cutie and was instantly enchanted. "She's beautiful."

No woman could resist an adorable little pet.

Harry stroked Little Cutie's damp little nose. "Be good, don't run around."

Little Cutie meowed softly, as if understanding everything.

Harry wasn't too keen on leaving her in someone else's care, but one—it wasn't convenient to take her along; and two—when he had gone to China for a few days, he'd locked her in the room with some fish tins and cat food.

But when Harry returned, he nearly passed out. Little Cutie was lying weakly on the floor, her tail barely flicking, looking sick. Harry saw that she'd barely touched the food and realized she was starving.

Back at Hogwarts, he'd never worried about feeding her—she always went to the kitchen by herself.

Turns out, she'd been spoiled by the house-elves to the point of refusing food that wasn't freshly served.

So Harry had no choice but to entrust her to the hotel staff for the next few days.

After that, Harry left the hotel and made a few turns before arriving at the train station.

Passing through the red brick wall, he entered Platform Nine and Three-Quarters and boarded the Hogwarts Express.

Seven or eight hours later, Harry arrived at school.

He had already studied all the course material, and with Voldemort's memories, even the magic he didn't know—he could now figure out through practice and study.

But the one thing he still hadn't learned was Apparition.

The books described it as extremely dangerous—an advanced space-jumping magic.

If it failed, the body could be severed in half by the space itself, which was why it had to be learned under adult supervision.

Harry had no intention of turning himself into minced meat.

This time, one of his goals in coming to school was to consult Dumbledore.
