Hearing that, Jerry's mind started racing. He looked away for a moment, his jaw clenching. That explains a lot, he thought.
But Rebecca wasn't done yet. She shifted her weight to one side and added, "And here's the funny part. There's actually something going on between your father and your stepmother."
Jerry quickly turned back to her, his face looking both confused and disturbed. "What? What do you mean something is going on?"
Rebecca shrugged lightly. "I don't know yet. But it's intriguing. Whatever it is, it's not normal. I just need a little more time to pinpoint what exactly is happening between them."
She looked Jerry in the eye, her face serious now. "But trust me, something is not right in that house. I can feel it."
At that moment, Jerry took a deep breath and stepped closer to Rebecca. His face looked tired but also heavy with concern. He wasn't hiding it anymore.
