"Senior Brother, how have you been all these years?" Chu Haoran asked with concern, his eyes shimmering with memories of the past and uncertainty about the future.
"Me?" Gu Sheng chuckled, "The path of cultivation has been rough, but it's yielded some accomplishments." He spoke nonchalantly, as if the hardships and dangers were of little consequence.
The two were chatting eagerly when a mocking voice suddenly rang out: "Oh, isn't this our useless junior brother Chu Haoran? What, still hanging around with your useless senior brother?"
Gu Sheng and Chu Haoran turned to look, only to find several cultivators sneering at them. Among them was their old "acquaintance"—Wu Xinyu.
Chu Haoran's face darkened instantly. He lowered his head, as if wanting to avoid their gazes. Gu Sheng, however, gently patted his shoulder, signaling him not to mind.
