The ancestral hall gradually quieted down.
The villagers who had been hiding emerged, timidly approaching the ancestral hall.
The enormous body of the Ghost General lay on the ground, motionless, and at first, the villagers did not dare to approach, fearing it might rise again.
But after a while, realizing the Ghost General truly showed no signs of movement, someone was the first to raise their head and shout:
"It's really gone! Really gone!"
With this shout, several strong villagers dragged out the corpse of the Ghost General, and the other villagers instantly swarmed forward, wielding hoes, wooden sticks, shovels, cleavers, even benches. They raised all sorts of objects, madly smashing and bashing the Ghost General's corpse. They punched and kicked while uttering incoherent shouts.
Before long, the Ghost General on the ground was dismantled, leaving no trace but some broken armor fragments.
The statue in the ancestral hall also shattered with a loud crack.
