The words of the burning god were frankly confusing. Epsilon recognised a surprising amount of what it had to say, and yet, he couldn't make sense of it anyway.
'The doom war.. is it the war that Anvil was talking about?'
More concerningly, it also knew about Seras as well as her being a Nephilim. Since he was related to her now, did that make him one too?
'Nephilim must've been rare then.. I don't even know what one is thinking about it now.'
In the nightmare spells runes that described the drop of ichor, it said that Seras was a being that was born in-between good and evil... Was that meant to be a metaphor for something?
'What exactly is a Fey? I thought it was a kingdom, but this guy is making it sound like something else.'
Snapping him out of his chain of thoughts, the Genie's commending voice bellowed with impatience,
"Well? is anyone going to answer me?"
Bob frankly seemed too flabbergasted to say anything right now, and it seemed the Jin was partially ignoring him too. Ki Song on the other hand, had regained much of her composure, but still wasn't too inclined to speak.
'I guess I have to step up..'
Ignoring his fear for a moment, he spoke with his voice still shaky.
"Everything in the dream realm is very much dead. The gods too. The only things left are crumbling ruins and Nightmare Creatures. So no one won I guess."
"Nightmare creatures.. do you mean the corruption? Blasted.. of course it is. And what of the daemons? Are they dead for sure?"
"Probably?"
All three of the Jin's eyes all narrowed down on Epsilon even further, as he could feel it analysing every part of his being. It felt pretty uncomfortable to say the least.
"Strange.. explain that scent of Weaver on all of you then. If he's still alive, is Rime still around too? Please tell me she's dead!"
'Scent of Weaver???'
It didn't take long to put two and two together though, and yet he was still somehow confused.
"Are you talking about the Nightmare Spell? Who is Weaver?"
**
As it became more and more apparent, it turned out that the Jin was just as ignorant about the present, as Epsilon was about the past. Following that, they did a quick information exchange as the Jin told them a lot about the past, while Epsilon was able to tell it a lot about the future.
For starters, the Jin Of Covet, Greed as he called himself, had been trapped in that lamp since almost the beginning of the dream realms human history. Around the time when human Supremes began to appear, Greed was amongst one of the first.
However, after he got into a bit of a scuffle with another, he ended up in an unlucky encounter with a daemon.
"Let's just say that I said something that I shouldn't've.. they got angry... so they stuck me in here."
Funnily enough, they left a gimmick engraved into their prison, the lamp. He could be freed as long as he used his powers generously, by granting three wishes to seven different people across his lifetime.
Once he granted all three though, fearing that his power would one day be used against them, he was hidden away every single time. As a result, he had travelled across many Era's, fulfilling the desire of those who found him in each one.
He had helped grow countless kingdoms prior to Bob, and he had watched them all fall just as easily from their hubris. Bob's was supposed to be the last, and yet, an ungodly amount of time later, he was still stuck.
Speaking of the Daemons.
"A Demon.. Daemon? A Daemon created the Nightmare Spell?"
Epsilon had struggled to understand the difference between the two, but in the end he grasped that they were both essentially the same thing, just with different names. They weren't literal Demons, but they weren't of that class of Nightmare creatures either, nor were they apart of the many noble creatures that the gods had created, and they certainly weren't humans.
They were solitary, unique beings that depended on no one, nor relied on any body.
"I could barely observe the outside world from within that thing, so I only heard rumours about a weird spell running around. But smelling him on all of you now, I'm almost certain. This is most certainly his doing. Weavers."
'Another.. Daemon?'
His jaw tightened first, just a small twitch and the words he wanted to say pressed hard behind his teeth, but he forced them to stay there, locked away. His lengthened fingernails dug deep into the palm of his hands, causing them to bleed slightly.
Before he knew it, he found himself getting angry.
They all noticed.
First he was tortured in his first nightmare by one of them, and now.. this?
He'd seen the numerous corpses of the knights on his way through that demented place. They weren't murdered, they had taken their own lives from the madness. Those people weren't real.. but the blatant disregard it had for life. It sickened him.
'Why is it that all they seem to be able to do, is spread misery?'
The nightmare spell killed his father, and Weaver created the spell. So the way he saw it, it was Weaver who killed his father too. The reason why he had gone through so much pain till now, it was all his fault.
'No point getting angry, he's dead. They all are.'
Calming himself down he asked,
"Can you tell me more about Seras? Oh, and the Fey too while your at it."
"With pleasure!"
Having being trapped for eras, being able to hold a conversation with someone, even if they were only a mortal was enjoyable. Catching back up on the things it had missed was refreshing.
His good mood however, was quickly soured by the endless whining behind him.
"Hey! Wait a moment! My wish! Grant me my wish god damnit! Don't ignore me!"
Slowly turning around grumbling, Greed stared back down at the pitiful being below. Suffice to say, it was obvious he wasn't happy.
Looking at it from behind now, Epsilon noted something odd.
'Does he look smaller than before?'
On the other hand, Bob was too stunned to speak anymore. The pressure built up around him slowly, like a deepening silence. Then all at once, an overwhelming force bore down on him from every direction.
"Do you truly not remember what you've done? Have all your memories not yet returned? Hm.. that is to be expected from a shadow I guess."
"W-What?"
Greed contemplated for a short while, as if trying to figure out how to respond. The situation was more complicated than it had thought.
"Your last wish.. you've used it up already. I'm even carrying it out right now as we speak. Its the only reason I've been stuck in this god forsaken place."
