Chapter 22 - CHAPTER 22: THE UNSPOKEN TROUBLE

Relief flooded Luna's face as she saw John awake. Without a word, she rushed forward and enveloped him in a tight embrace, tears streaming down her cheeks. "John, promise me," she sobbed, her voice muffled against his chest, "you, you won't leave me again, will you? You will promise, won't you?" Her grip tightened, as if she feared he would vanish once more.

Awkward but deeply touched by her distress, John gently patted her back. "Yes, yes, Luna, I will never leave you."

Finally, she pulled back, her eyes red and swollen, and began to examine him with frantic concern, her hands running over his arms and face. "John, we were also attacked, right? So how am I alive? You also look fine, so what exactly happened there?"

Before John could formulate an answer, Dr. James interjected, his tone firm but gentle. "Leave all that, Luna. You probably don't know what your brother has done right now. It's very good that you both are alive, okay."

Then, Dr. Thomas said, "Don't think too much about coming back safe, and as for what your brother has done, why don't you go to school and find out for yourself."

Dr. James's earlier cryptic remark hung in the air, casting a shadow of unease. Luna's tear-filled eyes now held a flicker of apprehension as she looked at Dr. James, her brow furrowed in concern. But Dr. Thomas's suggestion that she visit the school only amplified her anxiety.

"Sir," she said, turning back to John, her voice laced with worry, "you haven't done anything at school, have you?"

Before John could respond, the door opened once more, revealing an unexpected figure. "Principal Anthony?" Luna exclaimed, her surprise evident. "You, you are here? Has John created some big trouble at school?" She glanced from her brother to the principal, her expression a mixture of confusion and dread. Principal Anthony was the head of the very school John had… well, been attending.
