Among all human fears, the fear of death is the deepest and most enduring.

The fear of death can maximize human sensibility. When this emotional fear reaches a certain limit, it does not completely tip the balance of rationality and sensibility. Human emotions will naturally continue to enhance the weight of rationality, thereby maintaining the balance. This is why there is the saying that fear can lead to either breakdown or absolute calmness.
