To recreate the scene as accurately as possible, the props team used hot water around 45 degrees Celsius and smeared dry ice powder on her clothes.
That's why the hot water created a billowing steam effect.

The fake snow around was made of fertilizer "magnesium sulfate," which was toxic, causing a burning sensation in the throat and eyes after prolonged exposure.
