Maid Café
Lan Yening forced a smile as he wrote the word "maid" in Japanese on a piece of cake.
Sitting nearby was a tall, broad-shouldered man with glasses.
After finishing work, Yuwei walked out the restaurant door, Lan Yening trailing behind her.
"Xiao Ning, why didn't Zhaozhao come to work?"
"He's dealing with some personal matters."
Lan Yening, having changed out of his cross-dressing attire, wore blue jeans and a white shirt. Under the hazy lights, he looked like a dreamy boy stepping out of moonlight.
"Oh! Well, goodbye." In truth, Ye Yuwei wasn't concerned about Lv Zhao's absence; she was merely trying to find something to say to ease the awkward atmosphere with Lan Yening.
"Yuwei, there's a good movie playing tonight…"
"Xiao Ning, it's too late. I have class tomorrow."
"Ah, alright then!"
Lan Yening watched Ye Yuwei's departing figure, his heart aching as if being cut by a knife, his mind replaying Lv Zhao's words to him again and again.
