The little one remembered the serious business for which she had called Mother.
She hugged herself with her small hands, putting on a serious interrogative expression on her round face.
"Mother, be honest! That Bai Yanyan, is she someone you had with another daddy outside?"
A look of astonishment flashed across Jing Jia's exquisite face.
Then she burst into laughter, "You little rascal, what are you thinking about! How could Mother have children with another daddy?"
Jing Jia pinched Bai Zhi'er's little face, "You are my only lovely baby, all others are just impostors for their interests."
Bai Zhi'er let out a breath of milk-scented relief.
