The air was filled with a quiet atmosphere; no one spoke, and Ning Wan leaned against the man's chest, appearing quite small, as if protected by Xi Mohan.
After a long while, Ning Wan swallowed a bit, her voice carrying a touch of caution as she called his name, "Xi... Xi Mohan..."
The man lowered his eyes to look at the top of her head, didn't speak, but responded with a faint "Mm," waiting for her to speak.
Ning Wan's hand beside her couldn't help but grip and remain silent for about half a minute before she spoke, "Are you... are you going on a business trip?"
The man paused and after a while, replied with another "Mm."
Ning Wan suddenly looked up at him; she originally wanted to say whether he could not go on the trip, but then felt that it was too irrational, so she thought for a moment and instead asked, "Then when will you be back?"
She and Xi Mohan had no real relationship, she couldn't possibly ask him to stay, so she could only ask this way.
