After Ning Wan finished washing up, the aunt helped her downstairs. As soon as she stepped into the dining room, she saw a man sitting and reading the newspaper while checking the time on his watch.
The man seemed a bit impatient, with a slightly disgruntled look on his handsome face, and his brows furrowed tightly.
For some reason, the first thing that came to Ning Wan's mind upon seeing Xi Mohan was the memory of him holding her as she slept. She couldn't tell if it was a dream or reality.
The aunt guided Ning Wan to the dining room and respectfully spoke to Xi Mohan, "Sir, Miss Ning is here. Should breakfast be served now?"
Xi Mohan lifted his eyes from the newspaper and glanced at Ning Wan. His face remained expressionless, but there was a hint of a meaningful look in his eyes as he gazed at the girl's face.
Without moving his lips, Xi Mohan let out a low hum from deep in his throat, then lowered his head to continue reading the newspaper.
