Cedric Fisher wasn't quite sure who exactly Anthony was, but he could see that Anthony's relationship with Alice Turner was anything but ordinary.
Sophia Wood and Lily Turner had always thought Anthony was Alice's young boyfriend. Even though during dinner Alice and Anthony both claimed they were just siblings, the two women still believed they were in a romantic relationship.
Now hearing Anthony say this, Sophia and Lily were genuinely surprised. They could tell he was being sincere, every word considering Alice's feelings.
"Alice! Anthony is absolutely right, you should follow your heart when making a decision, don't overthink things." Sophia took advantage of the opportunity to persuade Alice to accept Thomas Fisher's proposal—they, the onlookers, could clearly see that she still loved him.
