After leaving the Military District Compound, Alice Turner went to the restaurant where she had arranged to meet Thomas Fisher. She was early, and Thomas hadn't arrived yet, so she was flipping through the menu while waiting for him.
Ten minutes before their scheduled time, Thomas Fisher pushed the door open and walked into the private room. Before reaching her, he had already called out, "Alice! When did you get here?"
He took large strides toward her and sat down in the empty seat beside her.
"I just got here not long ago." Alice Turner tilted her head and glanced at the man who had just sat down beside her, then pushed the menu she had been flipping through in front of him, "I'm treating today, order whatever you like."
When she said "I'm treating," she deliberately emphasized the words, wanting to stress that she was the one paying for this meal today.
