When Alice Turner returned with the food, Easton Holmes left the hospital room. As he left, he only mentioned that he was going out to handle some business; however, he didn't tell Lily Turner what it was. He just told her to eat her meal in peace, and said he'd be back when he was done.
"Sis! Thank you!"
Looking at the steaming bowl of wontons in front of her, Lily Turner felt a surge of gratitude. She reached out to pull Alice Turner to sit beside her, "Let's eat together."
As she spoke, she handed a small spoon to Alice Turner.
"I've already eaten outside, you go ahead and eat." Alice Turner placed the small spoon back in its spot and pushed the bowl of wontons on the small table closer to Lily Turner, "Eat it while it's hot, or else it'll get cold soon."
How could she compete for food with a pregnant woman? If it were before, she would have been impolite about it.
