"Of course I consider you my wife."
Easton Holmes looked at Lily Turner and said without hesitation, "As my wife, you have the responsibility and obligation to have children with me."
He thoughtfully added an extra line, saving her from having to ask further.
Easton said that Lily had the obligation to have children with him, not for him. He deliberately phrased it that way; the children would be theirs, not just his.
Lily noticed this point too, and the fire in her heart slightly subsided. But thinking of his domineering words and actions earlier, she retorted defiantly, "I think you haven't treated me as a wife at all. You completely see me as a tool for having children."
Is getting a wife all about having kids?
Lily suddenly felt so wronged and wanted to cry; her nose tingled, and tears rolled down her cheeks.
