"Where were you on the night that you were attacked?" Lord Rowland asked, his voice calm but strong. He wasn't afraid of the queen, not even for a second.
"I went to the complex," Queen Fortuna began, her tone steady but soft. "I had an argument with my family, and I needed to get some fresh air. I just wanted to be alone… away from everyone."
"But witnesses say you were seen at the black market that night," Lord Rowland said. He was looking straight at her. She didn't even flinch. There was no shock on her face. I knew then that she had planned this story ahead. It was all part of her act. And sadly, most people were already buying it.
"I went to the market because I saw Sabrina heading in that direction," she explained. "I followed her but lost sight of her. When I got back, I confronted her, but she threatened me. I was scared. That's why I didn't say anything."
