The head nurse hesitantly accepted the note. "Little girl, who are you?"
The girl replied indifferently, "Just a passerby."
The head nurse was momentarily speechless.
On the white paper was a series of bold and untamed numbers, and the head nurse felt a tangle of emotions.
These days, there are plenty of charity organizations, but they're complex. Ordinary people are hardly able to meet the criteria. The initial screenings are stringent, with layer upon layer of obstacles; by the time approval is granted, the patient is often beyond help.
Based on what she had heard, most of the current charity organizations were merely tools for companies to evade taxes or launder money, while others were riddled with internal corruption. What ends up truly benefiting the patients is but a small fraction.
The girl reminded her, "Please make sure to pass this on to her."
After speaking, she slung her backpack over her shoulder and walked away.
