Chloe Grant was facing away from them, so she only heard the words and couldn't see the scene.
She didn't dare to look, fearing she couldn't bear it.
She wasn't a strong person to begin with, and since this thing happened, she hadn't thrown a tantrum, hadn't yelled, hadn't collapsed... except for that one time she drank.
Chloe Grant felt she had handled it pretty well.
She didn't want to make things difficult for herself anymore by looking back at how harmonious the family of three seemed, and hurting herself with it.
"Let's go inside." She said softly.
Michael Taylor nodded, and they were just about to take a step...
"Chloe, wait a minute."
Behind her, Thea Yates' voice sounded.
Chloe Grant frowned. She instinctively resisted, not wanting to wait or to turn back and have any interaction with Thea Yates.
But...
With so many people watching, she couldn't really pretend not to hear and just walk away.
