When Chloe Grant finished checking and came out, full of anticipation, she found… Matthew Morgan was gone.
Waiting for her at the door was Lucas.
Maybe it was just too unexpected, so Chloe stood dumbfounded for a long time without reacting.
Lucas walked over, with an ice pack already prepared in his hand.
Matthew had used it on him before.
"Where's Uncle Morgan?"
Chloe reacted and quickly asked.
"An urgent matter, he went to handle it," Lucas replied.

"Didn't he promise me he would wait for me at the door?" Chloe mumbled.
Lucas didn't hear clearly, "What did you say?"
"Huh? What?" Chloe shook her head, took the ice pack from Lucas's hand, and rubbed it on her face herself.
She didn't say much, just kept her head down and walked ahead.
