Delphine went up to the children's room on the second floor, turned on the light, and saw a room decorated very warmly. Half the room was filled with adorable plush animals, as if it could host an animal tea party.
On Benjamin's pink princess bed, two little children were kicking their blankets. One had slid to the foot of the bed, while the other was sleeping sideways. Benjamin's little foot was resting on Nicholas's pretty little face, and young Nicholas wrinkled his brow, sleeping restlessly.
Delphine gently lifted Benjamin's little foot and carefully adjusted the two little ones into proper sleeping positions. Nicholas was rubbing his eyes and softly murmured, "Mommy, is it time to get up?"
Delphine's heart softened as she picked him up and kissed him gently, saying softly, "It's just nightfall, dear. You can keep sleeping."
Nicholas nodded, reached out to hug Delphine, gave her a kiss, and then nestled into her arms to continue sleeping.
