Cassius Turner drove straight to the courtyard where Delphine lived. This time, he came empty-handed, with a faint, smoldering anger in his heart.
Delphine had already picked Nicholas up and was busy cooking dinner for him.
"Mommy, Benjamin ate three of the blueberry biscuits you made today, and I ate two." Nicholas Carter placed his little piggy backpack on the rack, changed into his slippers, and ran over to report.
Delphine couldn't help but smile at his words and asked, "Does Benjamin really like them?"
"He does. He said his favorite is Mommy's biscuits." Nicholas wanted to add that Benjamin was quite the little foodie; as long as it's sweet, she'd enjoy it.
"Then Mommy will make some different flavors tonight, and you can bring them to Benjamin tomorrow." The only way Delphine could think to show her care to Benjamin was by making snacks for her.
