The man stood in the bedroom, made a call to Arthur, and coldly asked, "You didn't report Delphine Carter's return?"
Arthur was startled awake from his bed in the middle of the night and murmured, "There was some French guy chasing Miss Delphine earlier. You said these minor matters didn't need to be reported anymore."
Ignatius Leclair let out a cold laugh and hung up the phone without another word.
Cassius Turner drank far too much the night before. By the time the noisy city woke him up the next morning, his head was pounding painfully. As the man stepped out of the car and saw it parked by the roadside, he frowned and immediately shook Yeats Howard awake, asking, "Why did you park the car here?"
Yeats Howard, having only slept for a few hours, swatted away his large hand and muttered, "My uncle… told me… to move the car."
