Delphine stared at the words "open the door" on the message, her heart pounding as she silently went to open the Leclair Family's front door.
Under the curtain of night, the outside of the Leclair mansion was deathly quiet, save for the faint, amber glow of the streetlights illuminating the plane trees. Delphine stood watching for a moment before a shadow darted in—Leah, clad in tactical gear, her entire body drenched as though dragged out of water. Her face was ghostly pale as she placed a trembling hand on Delphine's shoulder and murmured in a hushed voice, "Anyone home in the Leclair Family?"
"No one. They've all gone out. Quick, come in." Delphine supported her, noticing her ice-cold hands and feet. Leah's whole body was trembling from the cold to the point her teeth were chattering. Delphine's expression shifted slightly as she silently aided her upstairs, opened the bathroom shower, and helped her into the bathtub.
