"Did Nina ever scold you after finding out?"
"How could she have known? I never told her," Kay Forrest said with a mischievous smile.
"I need to maintain my image as the mighty and glorious giant in their eyes."
Jane Quinlan gave him a look: "You're too naughty."
"Saying that in bed could lead to misunderstandings.
Having drunk so much tonight, I think I need to exercise with you a bit to sober up."
Jane Quinlan, unfazed, raised her eyebrow: "Come on, just don't get your baby drunk."
Kay Forrest tapped her nose in resignation: "You really are the proverbial pig not afraid of boiling water."
Jane Quinlan laughed and cuddled into his embrace a bit: "So sleepy, let's sleep."
Kay Forrest nodded and hugged her tightly: "Sleep then."
Jane Quinlan closed her eyes but shortly after, as if thinking of something, he opened his eyes again: "Forrest."
"Hmm?"
"I just remembered... Evelyn Claire has no relatives left in this world.
