Neither of them had much of an appetite. After ordering a steak, a salad, a few desserts, and two glasses of watermelon juice, they started chatting.
Clara held her watermelon juice in one hand, while her other arm rested against the table as she propped her head up and gazed out the window.
"Faye, I haven't gone traveling in ages.
Once I'm better, let's go on a soul-searching trip, girlfriend to girlfriend."
Faye let out a dramatic gasp: "Since you've extended such a warm invitation, how could I refuse?"
Clara chuckled and shot her a playful look: "You act like this every day. Aren't you afraid Hunter's going to pick up your bad habits?"
"What are you talking about? Clearly, it's me who's been corrupted by him.
Did you not notice? I used to be the picture of grace and kindness back in the day."
Clara laughed and nodded: "Oh, absolutely. And now?"
"Now? Now I'm still graceful and kind."
Faye couldn't help breaking out into laughter after finishing her sentence.
