"I'll pick you up for lunch at noon." Bai Chengxi was driving with a Bluetooth earpiece on his ear.
"Mhm." Zhuo Yuqing responded softly, not realizing there was a hint of grievance in her voice.
"What's making you unhappy?" Although it was through a phone call, Bai Chengxi still keenly sensed something was off with her voice.
Zhuo Yuqing was momentarily dazed. She had said only one word, and yet he could tell she was unhappy. However, she didn't want him to get involved with the magazine issues, and most importantly, even though they were married, their relationship wasn't at the stage where she should trouble him to step in on her behalf.
"It's nothing. I didn't sleep well last night and am a bit tired."
"Got it."
Zhuo Yuqing had yet to speak when the call was already ended on the other side. She stared blankly for a while before sighing silently. It seemed to be Bai Chengxi's usual way of doing things.
