Just as she was about to pick up her phone, another hand was quicker and picked it up.
"Kyle Kinston, what are you doing?" Mabel Quinn said, then stood up, leaning over the table to try to get her phone back.
But his hand lifted, and she grabbed air. The next moment, his other hand suddenly gripped her waist, putting her in a half-embrace.
"You..." Mabel's face flushed instantly, especially since they were in a restaurant with quite a few people, and her phone kept ringing, drawing many glances their way.
"Why don't we guess what Daniel Harris wants to say by calling you?" he said.
"Kyle Kinston, haven't you had enough? You have no right to take my phone!" Mabel said.
"Fair enough." He chuckled softly and returned the phone to her, but simultaneously pressed the answer button, and Daniel Harris's voice rang out from the phone.
"Mabel, it's Daniel."
Mabel shivered, put the phone to her ear, and said, "Daniel... um, what's up?"
